Something from my bar whenever I feel like it episode CCCLXXIX
Couple of old beer mugs for today's episode. These things have to be over 50 years old. They are small mugs (probably somewhere between 8 & 10 ounces). They were made to look like old beer barrels. Metal bands follow grooves in the glass to look like the hoops around the beer barrels. The glass is dark to resemble wood. The only thing that is out of place are the handles. Those are big and made of wood. They are attached to the metal hoops with screws that lock both the handle and hoop in place. I have either 5 or 6 of these mugs. I've never used them for beer myself. In addition to being too small they are a pain to wash. The wood handles soak up the soapy water. Old and fancy but not practical.
