The micro business setback I fear the most is now a reality
When I began my micro business I was earning pennies a week. We all start somewhere, right?! Then I hit gold as one of my pins went viral, for a couple of days I earned €20+ /day. It was wonderful, but I knew it would all come to an end at some point.

Not what you think...
After that intro, you might think that my setback is the fact that the viral pin has slowed down. It's not. The setback I have feared since I began and which became a reality this week is a lower PPC (Pay Per Click) rate. When I started out I got €0.04/click, that's not a ton, but it all added up once that pin went viral.
This week I've been trying to figure out what happened to my earnings. At first, I thought it was a Pinterest issue. Maybe the algorithm no longer wanted to show my pins for some reason? I had been doing a trial of board booster to see if it was worth investing it at this point (it's not btw) and that trial ended on the 11th. Maybe the sudden drop was a result of that? It wasn't.
After our Sabbath ended I sat down to figure out my earnings for the week and there it was finally in plain sight: €3.75 - 375 clicks.
I don't need a calculator to do that kind of math.
While my clicks are down some - because the viral pin is slowing down - I would still have earned €15 at my old rate.
Grateful
I'm taking this as an opportunity to be really grateful for all the Lord has provided so far. This is something that happens to pretty much everyone in the business, I knew it was coming, I just didn't know when. The rate depends on a number of factors:
Source
Most of my traffic is to low priced Etsy items. It's what makes sense for my audience and I want to serve them as much as possible. I don't want to act just to earn money, that has no joy in it for me. My only hope right now is to up my conversion rate and I can only do so by posting pins of things people will hopefully want to buy and then sit back and wait. I would be very grateful to you if you would use this link when you are planning on buying something on Etsy anyway. It will help me up my conversions at no cost to you :)
Upping my Pinterest game
If I want to make any kind of money in March I'll have to up my game. Before my goal was €15 a day, now, it's €15 for the month of March based on how I did this week. To get there or maybe even surpass it, I will have to up my game. Because I knew we had a lot of life-altering things happen in the past two weeks, I had filled my tailwind queue and left it alone. In March, I will be working a lot harder on making custom pins.
First payment due
I should be getting my first payment from SSC on March 20th and I'm hoping it will be €335. It'll be really exciting to see some money in my business from the Pinterest side of things.
Upping my Steemit game
There's a reason why I'm not trying to create just one alternative source of income for the business and ultimately for our family. It's simply too risky. If this was a year from and we were beginning to depend on this income could you imagine how dreadful that drop in rate would be? Instead of panicking, I'm planning.
With one source down a little, I will just have to up another. Right now, my only other source is Steemit. I'm planning on posting a lot more in March. Hopefully bringing you ca. 50 posts. My hope is to earn 40 SBD total of which 20 will be liquid Steem and the rest will be SP due to the 50/50 split. Do you set goals for Steemit too?
As always, you can support my business easily by upvoting this post,

Until next time, keep your hands busy and your hearts quiet.
Thanks for business update!!!
