Super Healing Cast Off!!!

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Yesterday I went to the doctors new office expecting to see him again... it turned out that he was on vacation!

Instead, I ended up seeing one of his students that took this photo of the doctor and me our first time we met in his old office! Fortunately it played out this way so I could get this awesome picture for my post! Hehe!

The doctor thought it was hilarious that even though I was the injured patient, I was still far more physically capable than probably anyone he knows! 😝

I showed him this stretch by balancing on my broken ankle first, and then switched feet for the picture.

I was extremely excited yesterday since I was finally getting my cast off and going to see and free my beloved limb! As well as thinking I was going to see my doctor again!

I was pretty mind-blown how much my leg had transformed in merely 2 weeks!

Even with the slow atrophying from 18-22 months of living casually with a broken ankle... and the extra atrophy from not being able to move my ankle at all for 2 weeks straight.  It was actually a lot healthier than I thought at first glance.  I had my foot and leg shaved for the surgery, plus lots of iodine residues left over when they cleaned up, and even the signature of confirmation the doctor drew was still there. Not even 2 days without the cast and I'm already regaining my mobility back slowly with lots of (LOVE) resting, massage, stretching, and comfrey!

After the nurse removed the cast, she took all of the stitches and staples out as well, which is why some parts are taped. I discovered they don't sterilize the equipment they use to remove the stitches because it's cheaper to buy new ones and through away the used ones... I thought that was insane so I asked if I could keep the tools and they gave me everything except the tiny staple remover which ended up disposed of.

Hard to even imagine how many of these get thrown out every day... I saw so many people waiting to get their casts off the same day as me!

With my cast finally off, I took advantage to put on a bunch of comfrey immediately to my ankle!  Then the doctors student came in to examine how I was healing, to decide whether I was gonna need another more solid cast or the removable boot. He said that everything was doing great and that I actually begin to try and gain some mobility for my ankle, as it would help activate the cartilage!  Even though at that moment, I had practically no mobility except of my toes which was quite an interesting sensation, hehe.  I took advantage to ask him for that first picture I mentioned! As soon as everything was good to go, while on his way out he told us to wait, and that someone was going to come and bring us the boot!

This boot was surprisingly far bigger, heavier, and more uncomfortable than the cast, however the fact that I could take it off whenever I want was a relief! It also works great to hold my comfrey poultice wraps in place!

The guy that came to show me how to use the boot and fill out the paperwork for it was extremely funny and gave my dad and I a laugh the entire time we hung out with him. 😁 After showing us how to use the boot he took us to the check out where we were going to set up our next appointment/check up with the doctor! Funnily enough my appointment was scheduled for exactly 6 weeks later on Valentine's Day! This will be my first Valentine's Date ever as well as the most meaningful Valentine's Date ever! Since I don't really care for holidays and would never actually celebrate or get excited about it otherwise! Hehe. 😁

This is a picture of my friend Lucca, brother Lucca, and me finishing dinner with the family the day before I got my cast off! As you can see Lucca is rocking the new Steemit logo with the shirt he got at SteemFest2!

I am ending this post here because too much happened today to include all in this same post and would probably be too much, hehe!

SteemOn and thank you all for the healing vibes!

Wow, this was fast, I just remember you few days ago on the bed pretty bored.
Glad you got well!

Hahaha, I made my post from 2 days ago 2 weeks after the surgery, and the day after I posted it is when all of this happened, (except the very first picture, that was from my first time meeting the doctor)!
I still can't do any weight baring at all on my ankle, supposedly for about 6 weeks, until it's fully healed! Though I have been stretching and massaging it as well so it can regain its blood flow, flexibility, strength, and super powers! 💗 💗

Awwww so happy to see you getting better and steeming hot! love you forever brother soon we will be climbing! @originalworks @fmatinata

Yessssss, exponentially healing (and steeming!) so much better every single day! 💗💗💗
Love you sister, thank you! 💗😊💗

So awesome! Keep up that healing energy!

Thanks Kim!! 💗😄 I'm going for the most hardcore optimal fun healing adventure possible! Hahaha 💗😄

Hmm, I don't see any difference between your legs except the color and the amount of hair :D

Hahaha thanks @jaanikariiel! 💗😄💗 Maybe the hair makes that big of a difference 😝

Wow this is awesome!!! Great first pic 😂

It's wonderful to read/hear/feel you're back to your full on loving self...it was really quite a bummer to see how tired and low you were feeling before the surgery. Love is definitely one of your super powers and I'm glad that it's hardcore activated!!! 💚 💛 💚 💛 💚 💛 💚 💛 💚 💛 💚 💛

Crazy to see those instruments just thrown away :/

Thank you!! 💗💗😄💗💗

Hahaha I'm glad I managed to get that pic, I totally forgot to ask for it the day he took it, hehe.
Yeah, I agree, it definitely wasn't so much fun feeling tired all the time... but now I got what I wanted (even though I didn't expect the surgery when I wanted that, haha); weeks in bed xD
Really crazy how wasteful practically all aspects of "normal" are hahaha

Love is the universes free super power for life! 💗💗💗 I'm just re-embracing it! Hehe

YEAH!!
So glad I was able to get that picture, I really wanted to start my first post with it but didn't think I'd ever get it... and the next day I did, hahaha!
Mmmhhmm, wanting to Steem more each day hahaha! 💗💗😄💗💗 Thank you! I'm trying not to think too much about what I write and always be as honest as possible, even though sometimes I forget to include certain details, hehe.
My cousin had actually told me about comfrey weeks after my injury... but I didn't give it much consideration and never bothered experimenting with it... until I started experiencing it and loving it at the @gardenofeden as well as learning to love healing!!
💗💗😄💗💗
Always doing my best! I love you and @gardenofeden! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 Thank you! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

Yea awesome photo!

Keep being super real and honest, you will get a lot of followers on here I think and be abel to make money blogging around the world!

Definitely!!! We'll see what happens!!!
Hahaha, I just want it to be as fun as possible! 💗💗😄💗💗
