Coconut Harvesting Preparation for Hurricane Irma
One of the best things about the hurricane is that EVERYONE wants their coconuts removed ASAP!
As well as other fruits too! For some reason lots of people don't like to eat their own trees fruits and often times just let them rot all over the floor... and even worse live in fear of letting someone else harvest their fruits because they think they might get sued!
We don't get it... but more for us!
As my brother and I do not enjoy spending money unless we can truly benefit from the experience, we wanted to harvest as much abundance as we possibly could just in case this natural disaster gets bad...
Like right now as I'm writing this we recently receive a tornado warning, haha, I have no idea what's going on..
Luckily the passed week my brother and I have been driving around harvesting tons of coconuts and fruits!
Even one of our good old friends we taught to coconut tree climb hit us up to harvest cocos together!
This is a gif of him and me climbing the same tree!
These are the giant juicy cocos we got down from the first tree! My shorts happened to fit my little coconut cleaver perfectly to climb up with it safely from slipping out of my pocket allowing me to chop all the bundles down! Though I did drop it on the last bundle and had to finish them off with my feet, haha.
Our friend left for work... but I climbed and emptied another tree shortly after to finish loading up the car!
I didn't get a picture of this pile, but we moved the first pile to the car and the second pile looked almost identical to the first :)
This is pretty much all the coconuts we have now, though we did harvest more after making that video...
The final tree, a couple hours before the hurricane is supposed to arrive, it had been raining, making it a bit slippery and at the top it was super windy, but juicy ripe coconuts were worth it!
Are you from florida? If yes make sure you must park your car in a safe place. And you must to some safe place too. IRMA hurricane is coming with 155 kt/ hr, it has changed it's direction now there is must be an effect on Florida. Take care guys.
Thanks! Yes, we are a bit west of Miami, I think we'll be fine... but we'll see what happens! We parked our car sideways in front of the house and weighed it down with coconuts, haha, hopefully it doesn't fly away!
That's a nice Idea. But don't park them near trees. Because trees might fall down. I am really impressed the way you climbing the coconut tree without any help. Reminds me jungle book movie lol.
Mmmm it's as far as it can be from any trees, at least to what we could do, only small trees that will probably fly away...
Thank you! I easily have hundreds (if not thousands) of coconut trees worth of experience and have spent the passed 19 months climbing them with a broken ankle 😅
When my ankle heals I'll be a lot more of a jungle boy than I already am now hahaha
Siiiiiii estoy REEEE cuidadoso!!
Jeje

Coconut trees all over the world!! :D
We got lucky that the part of the hurricane we experienced was barely strong enough to even knock down the cocos from their trees!
I've seen individual coconut trees filled with up to 200 coconuts per tree! Amazing abundance and relatively easy to harvest!
Are you also in Florida?
You rock Frankie!
Thanks Kim! You're super awesome! <3
Diddo Kiddo! lol ;-)
Oh my heavens look at all that beautiful FRUIT!!! 😍
Hope you have enough to weather the storm.

We probably got way too much... especially since it's apparently not coming this way anymore... :D hahah
