The Rainbow at the End of the Shower
This sums up my recent trip to Cabot, Vermont!
At this particular point in my life not much gives me greater pleasure than the excuse to travel, especially when it includes getting together with family and friends I adore.
It always surprises me when someone expresses irritation with the prospect of a road trip, I absolutely love watching the scenery change.
Particularly when that scenery includes beautiful vistas like this one...
...and cutiful faces like this one!
This is how they baby shower in Vermont- outdoors no matter the weather to enjoy that clean mountain air!
Is there anything more glorious than the changing of the leaves? Not if you have this view,
and people you love to share it with :)
My son making the delicious ceremonial cider...
...and my hubby being his usual dog and child whispering self,
while mama Dreemit poses with the mama-to-be.
But cider duty is forgotten when the long time crush arrives, (can't really blame him there)
just in time to watch the ceremonial opening of the gifts- one of which gets the baby stamp of approval.
Thwarted she goes in search of other fun...
This is way better than a doll anyway!
And in case it just wasn't beautiful enough in this place, the heavens decided to bless the event with a glorious gift!
I have never in my life seen a rainbow this vivid,
with every color represented,
and since I strongly believe in signs I think Brad and Erin should expect big things from that baby!

That rainbow looks magnificent! It's rare that you get to capture something so full on camera! I've seen a couple of those but they didn't register all that well digitally. It's so cool that it occurred at the end of a different shower, too! Big things ahead for the baby!

It was! I've seen some cool ones before, but never one where I could pick out every color. There is something so magical about them, especially when they show up at the end of an event like this one did :)
She is growing fast! Hm, I haven't been able to pinpoint who she looks like yet, but she is so freaking smart- not even two years old and already knows the whole ABC's song, how to count to ten, and can answer a lot of different questions-- if she feels like it.

It reminds me of my childhood when we traveled from Germany to Norway - all by car (including 2 days/nights on a ferry). Those trips were endless, and I loved every minute of it - seeing the landscapes passing by and changing over time as you mentioned.

That rainbow looks solid! Even the rainbows are more colorful in VT! I'd always heard the rolling hills in that part of the country were similar to the Ozarks, I can definitely see that in the photos.
Looks like a beautiful time was had-- I remember that cider press from last year(?)
Yup, that's the same press, last year it was him and Uncle Willy, but this year they didn't have a big enough pole for two people to manage it!

Big things indeed! That rainbow is stunning. The backdrop looks very much like the Scottish highlands. Or rather the bit just before the highlands where it starts to get hilly. Lovely!

I've never before seen indigo and purple in a rainbow, always wondered if I needed special equipment for it!
