A Party in Pittsburgh: Surprise performance by Rob Benedict and Louden Swain in the Vendor's room, and Me in High-Fiving Proximity!(SPN Convention Part Four)

in #blog8 years ago (edited)

I've mentioned a few times that there was a great deal of interaction with the cast at this convention, and one such occasion happened while Zoe and I were perusing the vendor's tables. We were planning to head out to grab a bite to eat, but became distracted by all the great 'wares' for a bit when suddenly there was a ruckus- and next thing I knew I was sitting on the rug right in front of Rob Benedict, Jason Manns, and the Louden Swain Band!.....

.....Er, okay, I have to be honest here- saying 'the next thing I knew' might be code for tripping over people in my hurry to get a good spot- I did draw the line at trampling old people and small children, that counts for something right?

And I thought my daughter was right behind me, but as usual she was the much more mature one (I didn't elbow anyone, I swear!) and ended up finding a place a little further back.

I'm happy to report that my aggressive maneuvering to the front was rewarded with the clearest video I took all weekend:

Rob Benedict and Louden Swain "Gone"

So now I can tell people that I sat at the feet of God while he sang a song. Huh, it just occurred to me that Supernatural portrayed @johleen's God to a tea
:)

When it was over, it was finally time to get something to eat before returning for the Saturday night special. We did a little google research and found a great place called Condado Tacos.

I had every intention of taking pictures of our plates when they arrived, but I was so hungry that I completely forgot! If you click on this link it will take you to pictures that reflect exactly what we consumed. Which was quite delicious and a bit exotic. Have you ever heard of pulled jackfruit? Well I hadn't, but apparently you can take a jackfruit and shred it, then marinate it in barbecue sauce and have something very like pulled pork.

Once our bellies were full we made our way back to the convention center....

Next up on my Supernatural Posting bonanza- Louden Swain and The Saturday Night Special, with guest appearances by cast members.

And still to come: more cast interaction-including time spent with Gil Mckinney, best known as Prince Eric from Once Upon a Time, who just wrote his first song. It's absolutely lovely and so is its creator. And speaking of lovely, we got a chance to chat with Jared Padalecki's sister who happens to be an author of children's books, one of which we had signed and I will be doing a review of.

And finally, the main event, Sunday with Jared and Jensen, so stay tuned!

Can I just say that mural of the volcano that isn't yours (because it's... nacho volcano ;) ) looks so amazing! Haha!

You know you have it bad when you've made it all the way to the front of a tight crowd and the superfan is all the way at the back hahaha! That guy who played God looks so familiar, I feel like I've seen him somewhere else.

On another note, because I've been writing "Mark Sheppard" so much, Google suggested an article that says Mark Sheppard won't be returning to Supernatural. That's too bad :(

Good one!! Haha!
Yep, though my excuse is I wanted to make sure I got a good video for the super fan ;)

Yeah, I avoided commenting on the things you've said about Mark because I didn't want to spoil it in case you continued watching. He actually turned into a bit of a good guy, helped Sam and Dean out a lot and ultimately sacrificed himself to help them. According to Mark it was just time, that he was only supposed to be a guest character that turned into a main guy and he felt it ran its course.
You're right though, he's not particularly jolly. In fact he's by far the least jovial of the entire crew.

Haha! That's a mighty fine excuse :D Good for his character, I guess. With all the shows I'm watching, coming back to that might be near impossible. That's the problem with shows that are running way too long. Actors don't want to be typecast to a role, so eventually they're going to force their way out.

It seemts to be a great convention now. I follow you now. @thunderland

good job!! upvoted, followed and resteem
