My brother (@fronttowardenemy) and I went to Vietnam recently. Join us on our ride through the mountains.

After riding in a sleeper bus for seven hours and not getting any sleep, We arrived in Ha Gian at 3 in the morning. I was dead tired and really needed some sleep. We found a place that would allow us to crash out for a few hours. Our plan was to start riding on this day. After some much needed sleep, we walked down to the motorbike place, signed our paperwork, filled up our gas tanks, and hit the open road.

The weather was a bit hazy so that wasn't ideal for picture taking. It was still beautiful. It had been awhile since I had been on a bike so I got adjusted to how it felt. The bikes we got were Honda Blades. They only had a 125cc engine but that was plenty to get us up and down all the hills we would climb.

A lot of the day we rode along side rivers and lush jungles.

The water in the lower part of the river was a bit muddy looking.

Once we got higher in altitude, the water started clearing up to this awesome blue/green color.

We climbed and climbed and the temperature dropped. This was one of the coldest days of riding. But still warmer than Portland Oregon. Some of the views were amazing! I just wish it was not so hazy.

We stopped in a small town for lunch. Pho was on the menu and that sounded just great on a chilly day.

After lunch it was a short ride further up into the hills towards Yin Minn and Tom's homestay.

We found the place fairly easily and got unpacked for the night. We walked into town to explore and find beer and food.
I can't pass up some good meat on a stick. They were delicious (I had to get seconds) These were a marinated beef kabob with a slight hint of lemongrass. So tasty!
