You should always reconsider what you say!

Stop talking nonsense and stop commenting shit! If it's not spam comments it's crappy ones. Come on guys, you have to be in the game! Let your self engage truthfully by making better comments.

Improving your communication skills in this platform is a must, because that's how you gain friends and followers, genuine ones.

Leaving simple comments on someone's blog is okay, as long as that comment makes sense and you don't simply copy and paste your 'spiels' onto every blog you see. It would be nice if you can talk 'real' on someone else's blog post. It would do you good as well.

Not only would your communication skills improve, let alone your social skills, you'd get their respect too. You'd get a nice conversation out if. And sometimes, you get a good amount of dollars from it, and that's a win for you!

Money Talks

It does, but you have to talk properly first before you can talk about money or before your 'talking' here becomes actual money.

You have to revisit the A-B-Cs of communication and commenting. Engage. Do not simply comment. If you dig up my posts or even Google 'how to comment properly' you will surely find a useful article that would help you improve your interactions with the community and earn a dollar or two.

Thanks for Dropping by!

Sadly, this is one of the few downsides of Steemit at the moment. The fact that you can earn from comments has led to people simply spamming as many posts as they can in the hope of grabbing some easy earnings.

It really devalues the platform, and is insulting to the person who spent time creating their post. I guess the only way to stop it from happening is to never upvote or follow people who clearly use this tactic.

It's a shame because there is a great community here, and many people are missing out on some great discussions in an attempt at the easy route!

That's right, not upvoting them and also educating them how they should do it can really help. Downvotes/flags are helpful as well, if they really won't listen, but always try to lecture them first before doing that and give them the benefit of the doubt, not everyone knows the norm in the platform.

Absolutely. I haven't flagged anyone yet as I think everyone deserves a chance, and sometimes there can be a bit of a language barrier to explain why some comments don't make much sense. I'd only start flagging people if I saw them doing it regularly, but I certainly wouldn't upvote any comments that seemed to be a cut/paste.

I usually just flag real spam, those that take up too much space in the comments section needs to be hidden.

I do get lots of comments that don't make sense at all, some people do not speak english and rely on machine translation so that's why some words don't add up. If I try translating my local language to English - there are times it'll make super funny sentences.

Much appreciated, sir! I have upvoted your comments too, but I don't hold much weight yet haha. Have a good sleep, nice chatting to you!

By the way, I gave you upvotes. Thanks for chatting, I need to sleep now.

Commenting is one of my more favorite sides of Steemit. It’s just sad when most comment sections are filled with spam and other nonsense. Some time’s I just ignore them, other times I poke a little fun, and even sometimes I’ll upvote other comments to put them where they deserve up top.

Part of the issue is authors don’t always spend a lot of time curtailing their own comment sections. Some are really great at it and even spend a fair amount of time engaging with people who leave comments.

Others they just let things stand as they will down in the comments. I try and do my part most of the time to create a comment section I want to see in other blogs in my own.

Another is there are bots out there that randomly upvote comment based on some keywords and some spammers seem to be fishing for those upvotes. Some people also just upvote any comment they get even if its just copy/paste spam. It starts to get a bit concerning when you see people make it up to 50+ reputation and all they do is copy/paste spam all day. People need stop rewarding them so they will invest time and resources elsewhere. Or just maybe try for once.

I actually learned about Steemit from an online class taught by some guy who advocated posting comments like "Nice post, follow me pls." , lol. Good thing I did some further research and discovered it was actually frowned upon!

There seems to be an uptrend of those kind of comments lately especially with the newbies and it's up to us to show them the Do's and Do Nots in the Steemit platform.

Well i loved to comment and my favorit topics are foraging or homesteading,
The most sad that i saw here is when people comment in your post and do not upvoted.
This is angry for everyone.
Best regard @galberto

Really appreciate with you dear @deveerei, many of the users are continue using rubbish comment which are fully unawareness, you should to git achieve topic and blog materials, than leave the comment

It's good we write such posts to sensitize on the importance of good commenting. About three days ago someone spammed me in the comments and i had to make a post about him.
It's funny how someone sends the same comment everywhere regardless of content.
Nice one am sure someone who does it will come across it.

This is actually a big slap of reality here in steemit and i wont wash my hands here cause i guess i've done these couple of times before when i was a newbie, but now i actually taking serious about it specially in commenting that should be relatable to the post. Cause you wont be a effective to the readers if your comment does not have any sense.

These post is really tells the reality now in steemit that there are people that does not take this seriously :) Nice article. Big thumbs up !!!

A week of being here to this site, my ignorance overflowed. With my posts commented by my friends who introduced Steemit to me, I just simply reply just to acknowledge them. Only today i learn that also there is earning in making useful comments. Anyways i am not used to have harsh comments ever, i'll try to improve in way possible in giving comments. Thank you.
