Yesterday I went to throw trash into the garbage and to my surprise there was a pair of skates lying in the bin. I picked them up to look for the reason why on earth is someone throwing skates into the trash.

And I couldn't find any.

This isn't the first time I'm finding completely usable items in the garbage shelter; one time I found 6 completely intact Ikea coffee cups and another time two outdoor chairs.

It boggles my mind how are people so lazy and wasteful that they just rather throw stuff away and not even sell it online. Like, YOU PEACE OF SHIT ARE TOO LAZY TO EVEN GIVE IT AWAY TO SOMEONE AND WOULD RATHER THROW IT INTO THE TRASH?! TO A FUCKING TRASH!!! ARGHGHGHHGH!!!

Seriously, this makes me want to punch someone (those assholes) in the face.

I guess it's the byproduct of western society. Were so materialistic wanting always more stuff, yet we don't actually appreciate any of our material possessions at all, but throw the value away voluntarily. And then we pray for Jesus to let us in heaven. Fucking Jesus would rather go to hell than let us in.

Sorry, I got sidetracked...

Anyway, luckily I spotted those because they only need some sharpening and they're as good as new and they will sell for sure. Can't blame for finding "free money".

Magic Dice

On the same night I found the skates, I started playing Magic Dice (thanks to @soyrosa) – a gambling app you can play with STEEM. Now, I know gambling is not rational at all since the house is set to always win, being also addictive, hence I wouldn't recommend it. However, right now it has a potential for later long-term profits.

You see, Magic Dice is another dApp on Steem blockchain and they will have they're own SMT called MAGIC token. Right now these MAGIC tokens are being distributed to the players with a current ratio of 25 tokens for every 1 STEEM wagered, with the amount halving whenever another 5% gets distributed. And starting February, you will start earning dividends with the tokens (even without the SMT protocol going live). In other words, passive income.

All the profits Magic Dice generates, will be proportionally distributed to MAGIC token owners. So, if you own 1% of MAGIC tokens, you will earn 1% of the profits the game generates. Of course, the team keeps part of the tokens to themselves so they can maintain and add new features to the product.

Aaaaaand as humans are humans, and like to do not so reasonable things, gambling on blockchain and on Magic Dice is pretty much set to only rise in popularity.

How Much STEEM from Dividends?

Impossible to say really, but @soyrosa did some speculative calculations that she might earn her 150 STEEM, lost while playing, in few months and start earning from that point. If that's correct, it is quite fast profit for a long-term investment. And that is only now with a lot of upwards potential in the future.

In a way it is "buying" these tokens, just that there's no fixed price for them.

Strategy?

There's not much you can do, because you're going to lose long-term no matter what gods you pray and raindainces you dance. However, betting with the above configuration (low multiplier and high winning chance) might be a good idea if you don't like too much risk and have a small limited amount of STEEM to use for this, because it involves less variance. Also, smaller bets will even out the variance. But then again, if you roll the dices for thousands of times variance will even out so it doesn't really matter how you bet because the house always has the little edge no matter what and you're guaranteed to lose.
