Laser surgery. My friend niomi had that domes about ten years ago; same thing as you in that she lived her entire life with thick glasses. Had the surgery done and loves the fact she doesn't have to wear glasses.

Wouldn't it be cool if you came back with super powers though.
You go in to get your eyes adjusted but the machine gives you the ability to shoot laser beams or see through time like Bran Stark?
