My Life Book # Part 4 (Historical Places of Bangladesh)
This is my 2nd contribution to #HHG11 hosted by @ainie.kashif founder of #HHG (Hello Hello group).
INTRODUCTION
Every country has some histories and connect with those history some places are being memorable. These are named as historical places. Bangladesh was gone through with many king, Landlord, era of british so Bangladesh has many historical places to visit. Here I like to mention some.
- Lalbag Fort
- Ahsan Manjil
- Maynamoti
- Sompur bihar
- Mohasthangar
- Sonargaon-Panam City
- Shat gombuj Mosque
1. LALBAG FORT
Third son of Emperor Aurongjab was start founding this fort at 1678.
After building the Mosque and a Hall he stopped work of it and next time Sayesta kha start to finish the work of the fort at 1680.
At 1684 the daughter of Sayesta Kha named Pori Bibi was died suddenly. Sayestha Kha thought that his daughter died because this fort is inauspicious. Then he stopped the work of making Lalbag fort. Thus the fort remain unfinished. The tomb of Pori Bibi is situated there.
People said some people see the ghost of Pori Bibi inside the fort at night. As ghost has no proof so this is remain unrevealed. There is some tunnel inside the fort. Those tunnels were used to escape way in time of war. Almost tunnel are closed except one.
It was said that no one could came out who entered into this tunnel. Last time some british soldier entered into this tunnel and never came out. Then some british specialist was appointed to unmask the mystery of this tunnel. They entered 2 dogs with chain bound and after a while the chain was brought out without those dogs. The specialist again experiment with some other animal and used another technology to reach the end but failed. Then they sealed the road to go to tunnel forever. Now people only visit the sealed gate of tunnel only.
2. AHSAN MANJIL
At 1659 Nawab Abdul Gani started to build the Ahsan Manjil and finished at 1872. It was named by his son Khaja Ahsan ullah.
The structure of Ahsan Manijl is so gorgeous. There is a dome on the manjil. In that time this dome was the highest point of capital Dhaka city. Three-way arcade entrance is so beautiful and the strairs to climb up. There is a big drawing room and a library inside the building. At west side there is a dance room and others bed room, dining room , courtroom. The main river of capital city is In front of it. Now a days people visit it as a museum. Some instruments that was used by the emperor’s placed inside.
3. MOYNAMOTI
This is the oldest civilization patterns. This is actually the remnants of ancient cities and Buddhist monasteries. Now a days people see only the debris of it.
4. PAHARPUR SOMPUR BIHAR
Second king of Pal generation Dharma Pal (781-821) founded this at the end of eighth century. This is called the biggest Buddhist monasteries in the world. This was a education point of buddhist for 300 years. The buddhist not only from Bangladesh but also from China,Tibbat,Mayanmar,Malaysia,Indonesia was came here to get their buddhist religional education.
5. MOHASTHAN GOR
Once Mohasthan gor was capital of Bangladesh. Before Jesus Christ’s birth this cibilization was build up here. At 2016 Mohasthan gor was annouched as cultural captial of Saarc.
6. SONARGAON - PANAM CITY
The history of Sonargaon was so rich. It was the centre of administration of Muslim Ruler. There is a folk art Museum at panam city. The area of Sonargaoin is quiet big than other historical places. And some more structure was made after that. So many people visited Sonargaon each day.

7. SHAT GOMBUJ MOSQUE
This was build at the time of 15th century. It took long time to built and spent so much money. It has 60 dome on it that’s why it called Shat (60) gombuj Mosque. The wall of this mosque is 8.5 feet thick. At 1983 UNESCO gave an official dignity of world heritage.

I read it and glued my eyes on those amazing heritage structures of Bangladesh. You are such an awesome storyteller of your country. I got suspense reading the untold mystery of Lal Barg Fort and the awesome history of the oldest civilization.

Almost people have patriotism inside them, mine too. As you said you respect my country and culture then my respect also goes for you from the deepest heart of mine.
Actually the information i gathered are just very small amount. There are a lot more history for each place mentioned above. The story of the rule of the kings , emperor of Bangladesh are so much interesting. There also made some movie with their story. may be some day i will try to tell those stories :)
