When growing up, there was this association of laziness with gaming and that those who love games are most likely not going to do well in school which will further translate into real life. I understand how concerned my parents were with gaming back then and i would have been very much alarmed myself if i experienced the life they lived and had the opportunity to raise a child. They grew up in a society where only the professionals(those with academic qualification) were the movers and decision makers.

Its been over a 50 years and this phenomenon still remains the same but with a slight twist to the whole equation. Society has changed from hiring book worms who know how to recall every other word from the encyclopedia and cite their reference to the more creative and free thinking "absurd" movers. A wise man i listen to once said in one of his talks that; if i were ever to follow standards , nothing new or better could ever exist outside those standards.

I get disheartened when i realised these are the standards to which our society thrive upon. Those who follow rules strictly are often celebrated in their infancy and those who dare to challenge the norm are consider outlaws and misfits. This deteriots the creativity in the child and prevents the discovery of new things.

There is a new paradigm coming into the internet and its called the block-chain solutions and decentralization. There are gaming systems that pay people to play and have fun.
