Blockchain News: Computer Game Trading Meets Blockchain!

in #blockchain6 years ago

Most people who buy games in digital marketplaces have probably realized after they have got bored of the game, the options for re-selling them are slim once you have played them to your heart’s content.

I'm always interested in seeing what new applications they will find to incorporate blockchain with and today I found out that Robot Cache, a blockchain-based distribution platform created by Atari's founder Nolan Bushnell has figured out a way to help you resell your games while at the same putting more money directly into the hands of developers! It is pure genius!

“Robot Cache, the first decentralized PC video game distribution platform that benefits publishers, developers, and gamers, has announced the first wave of publishers that have agreed in principle or signed agreements to bring their games to the platform,” the company said in a press release.

The future takes time. So the revolution won't be broadcast (well it might be... who knows) but it certainly won't happen overnight! At least I don't expect it to anyways...

To illustrate my point, the partners so far are limited to smaller publishers such as 505 Games and Paradox Interactive, as well as THQ Nordic. The company has however made a statement that more partners will be announced in the coming weeks.

So, now its time to turn the floor over to my readers? What do you think about this new and exciting use case? Can you see a platform like this taking off? What sort of ramifications can this have for blockchain developers in their search for viable use cases?

Please leave your thoughts below!

Great! Can you explain the process of computer game based on blockchain?

You'll need to read the article more carefully. This isn't a computer game based on blockchain. This is about a platform intended to allow people to trade used games they've purchased digital download rights to.

Oh.. now I understood

This is a great development and a good news for us all. It seems blockchain continues to spread all over the world and soon people will witness the power of this new technology. It's a good thing for us we boarded early on the ship called crypto.

That is a great development, it indeed can change how we buy games, you never know where blockchain will be incorporated, maybe in waste recycling.

Now this is something that have a big potential.

A long time complain of digital games owners is that they can't trade, give, resell games they don't want anymore.

I was expecting something like this, and i hope this one works. I will follow it closely.
