Online Video & Live Broadcasting

Only a few years ago, online video was sketchy at best & high quality, live, delay free broadcasting (& chat) was an exclusive corporate service. Pay Per View Events like pop concerts were and (still are) an expensive novelty. While live broadcasting over IP is commonplace, it's not always the highest quality and can still be expensive and restrictive to utilise. There's often not a lot of choice about how your content is monetised either. The market is controlled by a small group of large centralised companies who are keen to keep control of a very active market and keep the Lions Share of the profits.

Reliable, high quality & cost effective video chat conferencing has also become more of an ideal rather than an everyday reality. On.Live plans to make it part of your every day life as a range of professionals hold important meetings with their clients; Lawyers, Accountants, Doctors, Personal Trainer and tutors of all disciplines; (Business Mentors like myself) from the comfort of their own office with clients at home. in proper HD. Nice and a bit Futuristic.

On.Live Marketplace

Disrupting the Broadcasting & Video content landscape with a deceptively simple proposition. On.Live is an existing business and it's now going to have unlimited potential and scalability with the exciting and (no-brainer) advantages that BlockChain brings. Real time billing, smart contracts, a tokenised marketplace, (in this case not one but 3), a peer to peer de-centralised network and of course, monetisation of almost any imaginable service sector through content delivery on a platform which places an emphasis on choice. That's what the Blockchain Revolution is all about.

Consultancy Services

I'm a Business Mentor and I help Creative sector companies build their brand from the ground up, developing their identity, business plans, long term strategies and roadmaps in a personally tailored way, importantly sharing from my experience of running a creative business, (which is currently working with another very exciting blockchain start up). My company ShroomStudio produces motion graphic explainers and animated content and I'm passionate about evangelising the merits of BlockChain technology, so we're in the right place at the right time.

Mentoring

The mentoring side of my consultancy is a natural extension of my career as a Creative Leader and I find it very rewarding but also really hard work. I travel into Soho, Central London to meet my Mentees who also travel in from anywhere up to an hour or two's commute North and South of the city. I like to work face to face because it's personal but I'd also like to take on clients from further afield. (I have had request from Europe based clients.) Some of my clients can't always make it in to town and train fares add a lot to the costs. I'd also like to work from my own studio, or sometimes from home, both of which are more comfortable, cost effective and efficient solutions with much less traveling for everyone.

Workshops

I also run a series of workshops which equally apply to everyone I work with. They are like introductions to the work that I do and for some people that's enough. For others, it's just the inspirational start they need to go further. There are about 3 days worth of workshops and it's a long day if you attend a whole session. I'd like to break them up into chunks and create a video based presentation with the visually entertaining slides included, so people can dip in to the series as their schedule allows and learn at a rate which suits them. Life has been good to me (I work prety hard a it) and I'd like to give something to the next generation. I have a lot of time for people who strike out on their own and I would really like to offer the workshops for free to as many people as possible. I've looked into the existing platform like Udemy & Teachable. It feels like I'd be lost among the millions of courses. I need a platform which offers a bit more. I'd also like to broadcast specialist seminars and talks on specific subjects, like animation production, scriptwriting and developing narrative structures.

On.Live Channels

Having my own On.Live could work really well for me and be very profitable. I'm definitely not going to do this on youtube and probably not Udemy. Neither feel like quite the right environment or give the right impression of my services. I teach branding and sales so you could say, I'm quite choosy. I could set up a channel with On.Live called Creative Start Up School and it would contain a series of visually driven workshops, broken down into entertaining and serialised episodes. It would be a great marketing tool for my mentoring services and it would also allow people to learn the basics. I could in theory charge a fee for them, but you'd probably be able to access a certain amount of content free. An introductory, promotional offer but also giving something back. This in turn leads people straight to my door, (figuratively speaking) where I can tap into the need for one2one sessions, which is where the real work happens. Mentoring is part business consultancy, part therapy and I have helped over 100 people launch their companies including mentoring a life coach. I could help many more besides with a custom platform to work from. One which would give me the professional tools and trustless environment which ensures I get the best possible value and returns without a middleman or expensive upfront fees. This is a really appealing function for me (& I would imagine to a whole number of service consultants who don't quite fit in with the expectations of an online course but have something more personal to offer); Lawyers, accountants, even therapists and analysts. It's a bit science fiction and that's what gets me excited. That's just for starters.

Live Broadcasting

This is huge and although I may be interested to deliver one of my workshops to a huge international audience in LIVE HD streaming live from Central London, I'd be just as interested in watching the Winter Olympics Freerider Snowboard finals. Live streaming to an unlimited audience with pay per view or pay per MINUTE billing is very attractive as a service. Live from Las Vegas Boxing matches can cost up to $100 through regular subscription TV and there are many more live broadcasts from music concerts to theatre performances, athletics and motor racing events, lectures, business conferences and academic seminars which are often very costly to access. Did I mention cooking shows? The scope is huge and the growth will be massive over the next few years as the world shrinks.

This is where On.Live gets exciting. If you combine the two main marketplace elements together, it's really powerful and I've been looking round for a while for a way to combine produced content with live delivery for my own modest services. Tipping can be used for live services, which could in theory mean anyone with talent could perform as a virtual busker, magician or even living statue. It's really only limited by your imagination.

I could add free seminars and pass round the hat. Up and coming youngsters who can't afford yet my services could gain some useful insights, meanwhile I might catch some slightly bigger fish who can afford to buy my live chat sessions. Of course, I will be able to offer more competitive rates for videoconferencing sessions. No venue costs, no travel. Better for everyone. The system will use a reputation element which is very important in today's remote world of services and one that should not be underestimated. Uber is built on mutual driver / passenger reputation.

Ad Revenue Sharing

As TV ad revenues have lost their previously magical ability to capture everyone's attention (including key demographics) the shift has been towards VOD services and services like Youtube have become enormous. Even funny cat videos are now interspersed with targeted high end ads, but revenue generation is hard for content producers because the revenue is not being shared fairly. Producers can make money if they have a really good plan, an agent, a social media team and direct sponsorship. For most content producers, getting a million hits is not going to make them rich overnight. This is just the tip of the Iceberg. The On.Live platform has it's own targeted and automated ad system so you choose if you'd like to offer free content ad supported, or paid for, or a combination of both. The customisability (is that even a word) is a standout feature of the project and one that has been thoughtfully worked out for the benefit of everyone using it.

Blockchain Scalability

Blockchain creates a scalable peer 2 peer network. It's a tokenised system so it becomes an ecosystem and you can participate in many ways, either as a content producer, provider or as a node on the network, like a miner.

Transcoding and Relay Node

If you don't have content or services to share but you do have a computer, you can get involved in relaying & transcoding content & confirming transactions to be suitably rewarded. A community is the backbone of all blockchain and with modern laptops (like my own) having multicore processor and server style RAM, even they can happily chomp through video encoding in the background. The network uses it's own token (an ERC-20 compliant Ethereum token) so in addition to the benefits to the community, a level of security is built in for users purchasing content. Smart contracts offer peace of mind, escrow services, built in dispute resolution function and error free transactions for all parties. BlockChain.

fit.fit

fit.fit is planned for launch by On.Live soon after the ICO and is a straight out of the box solution for the health and fitness sector. A marketplace for Nutritionists, Doctors and Fitness Experts, where clients can easily find the services they wish to procure for themselves.
