The banking sector is the bedrock of socioeconomic development of any society.
One of the major functions of the banking sector is receiving of deposits from lenders and advancement of credit facility to borrowers.
However , the present financial lending system is fraught with challenges ranging from security , high interest rate, high transaction cost etc.
The banks acts as intermediaries between lenders and borrowers. They receive deposits and pay lenders little interest on their deposits while fleecing the borrowers , by charging outrageous interest rates, processing fees coupled with some hidden charges.
The centralized system , makes the data stored on the system to be vulnerable to hack attacks.
Able is poised to proffer solution to these challenges , by developing a decentralized platform powered by the blockchain technology.
The platform would connect lenders with borrowers , eliminate intermediaries....which in turn will reduce significantly reduce transaction costs while improving efficiency of the sector.
It also means that the intetesr rates would be reduced, as borrowers are enabled to negotiate borrowing terms with lenders on the Able ecosystem.
The Able project aims to provide a platform that will facilitate the development of smart contracts , which will be used to perform finance and wealth management services.
It would develop a system where both borrowers and lenders are enabled to share from the profits as against what obtained in the traditional financial lending system, where the banks are the sole gainers .
