No one will be controlling this and it will be completely transparent.
Block chain will revolutionize the way we do everything that involves a contract including government. Before the inception of AI there will be Blockchain government.

We are already living in the time where governments are propagandizing against block chain tech because it is a threat to traditional methods of power accumulation. Countries that are most likely to pick this up first will be the poorest ones with the weakest economies with citizens that become heavily reliant on cryptocurrency to stabilize their economic trade. Venezuela for example.

Block chain will eliminate corruption. Despite the negative implications of everyone being boxed and sorted, everyone will have a home and food and traditional ethics of the working day will be abolished (with a roll out of Universal Basic Income, for example).

It IS the future because it is controlled by no one and it provides ultimate accountability.

The issue is that governments and corporations are trying to create forms of cryptocurrency and block chain technology that they can control. This is simply stupid.

It reminds me of an age old saying, the first shall be last and the last shall be first.

We endlessly play this game of flip flop in the rise and fall of civilisations and nation states. Cryptocurrency, block chain and the decentralization of everything will create new power structures on opposite ends of the spectrum providing an open playing field.

The vice grip is this: Either we submit to block chain entirely in knowledge of what it will become in the future of we wait for a worldwide crisis which will prolong the current system of control.

Both options end in absolute control of humanity.

AI will probably be born either way, by some rich mans vice in his attempts to create the ultimate super intelligence for the purposes of taking over the world; or on a thousand people's computers in Africa via a smart decentralized app.

Either way, we are screwed.

At least with block chain technology we wrench the power from the dickheads.

The third option, which really isn't an option at all and highly unlikely is that we learn how to blind trust people again and we don't take advantage of people anymore, we stop using computers to automate a world of automated trust and we revert to simpler forms of currency which there is nothing wrong with in a trust driven world.
