Retail giant, Target suffered a data security breach in 2013; hackers got access to it consumer database of the company, affecting many of their customers. The retailer was forced to pay $18.5 million for the data breach with over 41 million of its customer's database in breach.
Another, corporation to suffer was, consumer credit reporting agency, Equifax suffered massively as a result of a cyber attack affecting over 143 million of its customers, and hackers captured their personally identifiable data, this is believed to have occurred in mid may and July 2017.

As a result of this development, consumers are getting increasingly worried about the entities they give out their data to when it becomes necessary to share such data with them.

Decryption of users data is only possible in the recipient's browser yet all communications and data of users remain encrypted on every device of the user.
