Can Blockchain be used to create an immutable consensual human history?

This is not my idea for sure, but it brings out a very interesting point of view.

Blockchain is a distributed, decentralized and immutable database. A mechanism of consensus between the parties involved decides what information to be stored and at what point. Because blockchain has these possibilities, it makes total sense to use it in order to write our history.

The winner writes history!

This is true for most of history so far, hundreds and thousands of years of manipulation. Each dominant empire, writing their history in such a way that it would justify their right to impose on others. This way of justifying things gave way to some sort of cultural superiority that people embraced and used as an argument for their behaviour. This, in turn, led to slavery, racism, social classes and many other unpleasant things.

A common agreed upon history!

We now have the tools to write history and a just and humane way. We now have the possibility of creating a free, open and decentralised platform to store our collective outcomes. And because consensus would be one of the key factors in this new way of doing things, we can assume that this record keeping is better than the current one.
