It's okay to be afraid...

The recent price fluctuations have many concerned and desperately looking for answers as to why this is happening...

I am sorry but this post is not for you if you're looking for those types of answers. 

 **Note: I am not an expert/professional in the blockchain space. I just had a lot of time to read through various academic databases, attend workshops/seminars, and discuss in length about potential implementations/use cases with peers.  

Do you really understand what blockchain is and how it is going to be implemented?

When I first truly grasped what blockchain was and its potential to change the world, I was instantly captivated. It has been over a year now since my introduction to the subject and I have not gone a day without reading, learning, or sharing some type of information about blockchain. 

The fact that Distributed Ledger Technology has the potential to uplift billions of people out of economic/financial darkness (UNBANKED) is unprecedented, since a large number of the global population does not have access to financial institutions such as banks. 

 For example, autonomous driving vehicles are pretty scary right? I won't argue with you there, I personally purchased a car with the least amount of digital tech because I am paranoid (Read book called "Future Crimes" by Marc Goodman). Knowing blockchain exist... I will gladly jump into an autonomous driving vehicle because I know its GPS software will be managed and secured on a blockchain. 

Each time the market becomes volatile (which is everyday), my friends call me panicked believing crypto is a scam and I have to explain to them (or at least try to) why it is not. Other times the market will be booming, the group chats become full of life, and the talk of lambos and private islands resume (which I'm not opposed to either). 

It's funny to me because they have either no idea, or a very basic understanding (if that) of what blockchain is. They make their assumptions and ignorant comments based off numbers they see on coinmarketcap. One day down the road some cryptos will make people very rich, while most will crash and burn. The only certainty is that blockchain is here to stay and has a bright and promising future. 

In my opinion someone who worries about things such as market volatility, especially when they do not even know what a blockchain is or how it works, only that you can make a lot of money, are not doing their due diligence researching and educating themselves. This results in their week-to-week FearUncertaintyDoubt, and they will never find any relief from the torture. 

Moral of the story:

 If you truly understand and believe in blockchain, your perspective on the current state of the market will change. When prices are booming all is well, when prices are REKT, then it's a great opportunity to buy. It's all about perspective my friends... Happy trading and HODL.
