The Old Dog Discusses: Decentralized 2019 Will Steem be Represented?
Decentralized is Europe's premier conference on blockchain and digital currencies. It is organized by the University of Nicosia (UNIC) which is a world leader in blockchain research and technology.
This years conference which will take place in Athens Greece from October 30th to November 1st will feature 100+ speakers and 1,500+ attendees. There will be an exchange of knowledge and ideas on the innovative technology, business and social/economic ramifications of blockchain and crypto.
A Call Has Gone Out For Speakers. Will Steem Be Represented?

I was at last year's conference and it was very well run and highly informative. A veritable who's who of the block chain world including Roger Ver of Bitcoin fame were on the program.
In 2018 The Best Presentation Was Given By Two of Steem's Own
As I wrote here just three months ago:
"Yesterday I saw Steem climb and soar in the eyes of many as the two Steemers behind @oracle-d (Matt Starkey, Dylan Leighton) took to the main stage at Decentralized 2018. I had no idea that they'd be speaking here and quite honestly they brought an energy and excitement that no one else on the program did.
They hit the ball out of the park with their presentation about how they’ve built a company without an ICO by using the Steem blockchain. They then explained how they’re bringing investors in to hold Steem Power and use it to reward their community for completing tasks."

A Lot Has Changed in Three Months
In the last three months we've seen a bear market with a huge dip in crypto prices, a complete re-structuring of SteemInc, a short period of despair and then a boom in Steem blockchain DApp development!
It's time to put our best foot forward at Decentralized 2019 with speakers and perhaps a booth at this years event!
Who Will Represent The Steem Blockchain at Decentralized 2019
Last year @starkerz and @anarcotech co-founders of Oracle-D and the Steem Business Alliance did a great job and I'd like to see them there again.
Who else could and should be there? Could @exyle speak at such a conference? What about @ned, @pennsif, @blocktrades or @andrarchy? What about the brains behind @drugwars or @steemmonsters or the founders of our other great, up and coming DApps?
Why is Being There So Important?
Unlike Steemfest which is a wonderful celebration among fellow Steemers the presentations at Decentralized are heard by the BIG BOYS of the crypto world.
Business men, lawyers, Fintech giants, investors, leaders in academia and swarms of young enthusiastic students can be exposed to Steem and find out why it makes sense to build on the Steem blockchain.

Awesome! Yes we will be there again. I met with the organisers of decentralised 2019 last week in Cyprus and they are keen to work with us and @dlux on a Steem powered app for the event, with which attendees can get upvotes for their comments and participation, along with treasure hunts and networking scanning prizes!! Should be an incredible opportunity!

If so that's GREAT news! BitShares had 2 presentations and a booth so why not Steem? If we can attract investors, users and builders that would be GREAT.
How about sponsoring UNIC students to build some DApps? Oh yah!

I feel you can make it it's a great event and a perfect venue.
Sounds like a great idea to use it as a platform. I would like to see someone from DTude there and someone from the gaming side of steem. These are real use cases ( as well as others) and are where I can see real potential growth requiring investment and publicity. Maybe the community could fund several people to go.

A good article and yes...Steem need representation there. Bill, a friend of mine, once said - "If you see the need head the call." Perhaps you could spearhead a group from Steemit. Planting the seed of inspiration as you have in this article is good too. Thanks @kus-knee

Great. I am also dreaming for myself that one day i will also stand in place to speak about steemit in a presentation also. And also to add, the last 3 months have been fustrating for me a lot. Wish that month never repeat itself again

All the nominations presented by you are certainly worthy and it is necessary to be at this conference if we want to be in front. May hold a vote between them. In any case, we have time to choose a candidate.
