The Meta Factory of Truth
Some random thoughts and ideas about blockchain....
I was a big fan of the Foundation series by Issac Asimov. As with most things I did when I was 18, I don't really remember much about it except, in one of the books the author explains the transition from religion to science and the effect of technology on the civilizations that developed them. He concluded that as the powers of technology grow the purveyors of old technology lose their power to the new. Every once in a while technology leaps so far forward it changes the dynamic of the entire universe in an instant, i.e. religion becomes less culturally important.
Now I'm cough 43 and I grew up in the most technically transformative time in human history. Old technologies are eclipsed by new all the time. Companies that don't keep with the trend die and new companies take their place. Apple was dying all through out the 90s but then came the iPhone. Fundamentally changing their perception in both the business and public view. Steve Jobs went from nerd hero to everybody's hero. These are small jumps forward as we march every closer to the robot apocalypse.
The culturally transformative affects of the internet and wireless networks are just a new type of manufacturing not that unlike the industrial age. What exactly does it manufacture? It's not phones. It's a meta factory of ideas. The smart phone has put at our finger tips the ability to share, confirm, develop and crowd source ideas. Just because most of these ideas are completely vapid doesn't make it any less amazing.
Sharing ideas is what we're all about! We were actually pretty good at it before smart phones.
Enter Blockchain... The Meta Factory of Truth. Our newest and most exciting idea yet.
