Symbiotic Autonomous Viruses (Part II)

in #blockchain7 years ago

In my last post I explained the idea for blockchain technology to reach from the online world into the offline world via Symbiotic Autonomous Viruses (SAV).

Today I will look into the impact of SAV's on the economy. Over the past decade we have seen an amazing rise of peer-to-peer economy using internet technologies (Uber, Ebay, Airbnb, ...). These enable peer-to-peer services and only centralise the trust. SAV's could become the next revolution and be the basis for a machine-to-peer economy.

With a current service like Uber, human labour is what enables the economic value of the service. Both labour and capital are fully distributed. There are already projects also distributing the trust. But once we have self-driving cars, this model will be outdated. A person could now own thousands of self-driving cars and we are back to a very centralised business model.

But this is where SAV's enter. As long as legal challenges are overcome, there is no reason why a customer would prefer a human business model over a SAV. This means that instead of developing another human-owned centralised system we may be heading to a "self-owned" distributed business model. And this may not only be the case for transportation, but for large parts of service and production. Basically everything where innovation is not an essential part and captial is employed for repeated tasks (with better AI also more).

On the scale of the entire economy it mens that humans may lose control over large parts of the capital existing in the world, without any external force required to steer this process . All of this capital will now be managed by SAV's and used with only one goal in mind: Providing optimal service, corruption-, trust- and profit-less.

Even though based on entirely different principles, this vision is rather close to the dream many communists have, to employ the capital to the common good of the entire humanity. Where they go wrong it by trying to employ force to realise this idea. But it seems that modern technologies let this appear naturally! In only 20 years it may be normal that there are many machines that do not belong to anyone and that simply serve us, competing with each other to be a better servant.
