Baidu Launched A Blockchain Application — Pic Chain

On July 18th, Baidu officially announced the launch of the original photo service platform “Pic Chain" based on blockchain technology, which is the official launch of the product after the beta test in April.

Baidu Pic Chain mainly relies on three core technologies: blockchain, artificial intelligence and big data. Based on blockchain technology, Baidu Pic Chain has created a copyright deposit certificate system that provides a “existence certificate” with a clear time stamp for the content, and because of many photo copyright agency partners will also join in, the flow information of related original content works will also be recorded. Blockchain technology has also been applied to Baidu Pic chain's one-stop online rights protection system, which will conduct online forensics and record it in the blockchain after the infringement is discovered. With the help of artificial intelligence and big data technology, Baidu Pic chain has created a copyright detection system that covers 100 billion-scale data on the whole network, which can run whole day, and the recognition accuracy is over 99%. The copyright inspection report can be produced as quickly as 2 hours for 10,000 pictures.

Tan Dai, the chief architect of Baidu and director of the blockchain laboratory, said at the press conference that the blockchain will become a new ecosystem in the future, and blockchain exploration has been begun in areas of multi-participation, long process and high credit cost fields, such as big data, social media, game, e-commerce, etc. The arrival of the blockchain wave does not mean the end of the Internet era. The Internet + blockchain can empower each other and reshape the value: as an important infrastructure of the "value Internet", promote a new round of evolution of the Internet; combining with artificial intelligence and big data, the value of technology will be magnified greatly.

In addition to the official release of Pic chain platform, the "super chain" industry solution also was launched. The superchain will combine supercomputing nodes and supervisory nodes. Each parallel chain can determine its own consensus mechanism, so that different developers can meet the different requirements in different fields. The superchain has reached 100,000 TPS per single chain and tens of millions of TPS systems. The next step is to promote the open source of the superchain and build the developer ecosystem of the blockchain. In addition, Baidu has also explored the combination of encyclopedia and blockchain. In June, the entire writing process of Baidu Encyclopedia has been recorded on blockchain. Next step, Baidu Encyclopedia will directly connect with each industry that has already use blockchain technology to ensure the authenticity of data, the ideal result is to achieve the authenticity of data through the blockchain in all industries, and Baidu Encyclopedia directly generates entries through AI intelligent writing, thus users can directly search and view the results.
