UBS & Credit Suisse are working since 2 years now on rolling out something useful but haven't preformed. I am a little bit cautious when I hear news like that.
It's not a guarantee only because they have started to build up a blockchain that they will succeed or that it will be used.

For me it seems banks try to keep up with the "unknown" so they will not be missed behind.
