No I am sorry you are misinformed. Just like in Ethereum last year this time if you hodl 10 BTC now and it forks you will have 10 BTC and 10 NewBTC. You will have the SAME amount of coins you currently have on BOTH chains, you just will need to download a new wallet to access it. Your coins are not real they are simply signed cryptographic access into the blockchain via your private key(s).
