First Quantum-Secured Blockchain Technology Tested in Moscow

At the core of blockchain technology, there is cryptography.

While for a normal PC or even a big mainframe it would be impossible to crack the cryptography which makes the blockchain secure. However, for a quantum computer, this endeavor would be possible.

A quantum computer is a hundred million times more powerful than the fastest mainframe at work today. So for a Q.C. hacking the blockchain in a reasonable time seems to be a feasible thing.
By hacking the blockchain I mean making the inverse calculations in order to change its records and thus change the state of the whole system, what is also called a brute force attack. This would make the blockchain unreliable and would destroy the trust that blockchain offers.

But fortunately, there are some great people and great scientists at the Russian Quantum Center of Moscow that are working hard to find a solution to this problem.

For now, this system was tested on a small network of just four computers and the results are promissing.
Their system proposes to use to use quantum mechanics technology in order to protect the blockchain technology from the attack of a quantum computer.
