Zimbabwe Is Eyeing Towards Blockchain Implementation

Today, we heard to Zimbabwe where the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has started studying and researching on how blockchain technology can be implemented with in the financial system of the country.

Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, John Mangudya told the public that the bank is on the verge of implementing blockchain technology. He was speaking in a breakfast meeting on Thursday at the Alpha Media Holdings’ Banks in Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. He added that the RBZ is taking this approach in order follow the part of technological developments in which many other financial institutions are enjoying but they will have to do so cautiously.
These are some of the words from John Mangudya, Gorvenor of the RBZ:
I did not say Cryptocurrencies because it is lower than blockchain. Blockchain encompasses all the Crytpocurrencies such as Bitcoin . . . what we are against is to do things which are not regulated because we need to know where these bitcoins are being mined and do want to hunt them.

Now that the RBZ wants to implement blockchain technology, I’m hoping to see how that works out and what will be the next move? Create a government-backed digital currency?

If governments begin to seek to implement blockchain technology then investing in any blockchain is wise.
