Three Secret Tips That Enables You Edit Your Content Like A Pro

We have all heard that advice when it comes to creating content, "Just Write, edit Later"

So we race off on our keyboards and pens, believeing at every turn that we are creating content that could spark a revolution

By the time we are done, the finished product looks like a shrub badly in need of a Gardener, so we go back to the big shears sitting on our keyboards that we ignored at first.

The Backspace key

We know at this time that we badly need its services so we begin to cut down on some unneccesary words

Editing content is very Important if we want our readers to enjoy our content, but how should we go about it

When editing you also have to realize that perfectionalism can kill your content, but that should not be an excuse for you to post half-baked or uninspiring content

Content that brings value to your audience should be clear accurate and educational, and if it is not memorable, your audience will get bored of you over time

We all know that memorable content does not instantly translate into big earnings on Steemit, but you have to know that you are building a personal brand and for you to successful at that you have to be memorable

These are the things you should have in mind when you want to wield that shears

Find Your Goal

This simply means going back to the original idea that made you write the post in the first place

Identify how the post will be of great value to your audience and that should be what influences what message the post will communicate when you are done editing

You should make your goal clear with your introduction, that is what you should use to make your reader care about the post

If you get this right then you readers are less likely to bounce or just scan your post

Personalise Your Message

This is not the first blog on the internet teaching people how to blog, but I have a way of customizing my message to make it unique

As an added bonus, this is the only blog online who teaches people how to blog on the blockchain fulltime

You have to infuse your content with the special qualities only you can provide, look for ways to make your audience known that you can always provide the best resource in your niche

Leave Out "Unprofitable Blocks"

Unprofitable blocks : excessive text that lacks value.

This is where some people might have issues, there are some categories of people who might not like your writing style

If your writing style( tone or language) distracts your readers from your content then your content will become less effective

Editing is the time you have to fully extract the value that your post has to offer and do away with stale words

Make sure that you do not repeat sentences, though spotting this takes practice, it is a skill you have to learn

Bottom Line : Don't waste words and your audience time

Most times I type straight from my phone without bordering to edit. I know I should edit more. But editing with phone can be pretty grueling. I just try and start my sentences with capital letters. That surely helps. Nice article.

Hello @greenrun

Very soon You make enough money to buy a laptop.

I have added you to my Steem voter so you will be getting constant support from me no matter how small.

Thanks for your constant engagement.

@ogochukwu

You do write an engaging article. Got no choice but to engage. Thanks.

Exactly! I use my phone too and it's a hassle to type with it, so it gets frustrating and I end up putting up a half baked article.
I hope I can also make enough to get a laptop. 😃

Yeah, it's a bummer.

I have a question then, is it possible to create your whole blog in a document some place, and then post it on Steemit?

No @windrockswater

You have to copy and paste it here on Steemit.

Thanks for reading.

@ogochukwu

I use MicroSoft word and OneNote to draft and edit my posts. Then I copy and paste the finished drafts into Steemit, add my photos, dona quick double check and post. I find it a lot easier to write and edit using those other programs than if I were to draft my content right in Steemit.

I find Markdown Pad 2 indispensable for exactly that. It's like Microsoft Word for Markdown, makes composing my posts go so much faster -- when the power is on anyway.

Very good post...thank you for the wonderful suggestions.

Useful input -- and yeah, Leave Out Unprofitable Blocks is the toughie for me; "kill your darlings" is hard advice to follow 😞☺

Yes your blog is for blockchain fulltime
This series is really helping me
Editing is the most difficult task when it comes to writing
Guess the most difficult part of it is leabing unprofitable blocks
Will have to read this again very well
Thanks for sharing

Nice tips sir
I guess it would be useful for those using laptops who can easily create a content anytime and edit anytime, not people like us that uses phone or something the cyber cafe where we have to rush our post to save time and money.. :(

Love your bottom line tip👍

These are great reminders that would benefit any writer. The internal editor must be silenced during the creative process. Its duality with the writer side is always interesting, and while they work hand in hand, it needs to be pacified during the writing process.
