When Blessings Shake Your World!
I am facing something right now that brings me great joy, but it is stressing me out. (More information to follow in a future post). My heart desires to revel in the moment, but mind keeps pulling me in a thousand directions. This collision of heart and head is challenging but beautiful.
We tend to think that the good things in life should be easy, but my life experience and years of watching other people seem to prove otherwise.
Blessings seem to be more appreciated, more meaningful when ...
- the trial was difficult to face
- the burden was difficult to carry
- the grief was difficult to resolve
- the trauma was difficult to heal
Although my world is shaking, I choose to ...
1. Breathe
I will let breath fill my lungs and bring me life. I will control my breath - deep, long, steady. This is my first step to face the blessing that is shaking my world.
2. Enjoy the moments
I will not let stress rob me of the joys of life. I will enjoy the moment, not letting them be passed over. I will not let fear grip my heart or mind but allow myself to fully live life. I will not only look to the future or reflect on the past, but I will live today and I will do it well.
3. Cherish my family
I will not let stress rob me of precious time with the people that mean the most to me. I will love my wife and daughters even though I worry and am struggling. I don't have to be perfect for them to love me, but I want to be present for them so that they feel my love.
4. Remember my goals and dreams
The challenges/stress I face may impact my goals and dreams, but I choose not to let them prevent my goals and dreams from happening. I may need to redirect my steps but I will not stop the journey.
5. Count the cost
Evey challenge I face comes at a cost. Every difficult situation in life requires a sacrifice. As I look forward there may be things that I must let go of so that I can embrace the blessings that are ahead of me.
6. Move forward
I choose to take one step at a time. I will not become overwhelmed by the enormity of the challenge but will be content in small victories that lead to larger victories. I will not retreat or stand still. I will keep moving forward.
Final Thoughts
I admit that I am scared, but I am hopeful. I look forward to good things ahead.
- When you face challenges can you see the blessings?
- How do you deal with stress and challenges?
I look forward to hearing from you.

That's a very inspiring piece. This is the first time Iim rebloging your post. It's true that life sometimes presents blessings in disguise. The difficulties attacked to these blessings are to prepare us to fully enjoy the outcome of it.
Great victories are won from great battles. Continue steeming @sumatranate
Thanks for the kind words. I completely agree that our light and momentary afflications lead to greating blessings. Have a blessed day!
Have a blessed day too
@sumatranate, I know you will share if and when you are ready... just know that you are the apple of His eyes and He's gotcha covered. Whatever is going on! Love you!
You are correct, dear friend! That fact is what keeps me going. The blessing is very good, it is just the timing that is challenging.
Hi my friend, I am happy you have come back to write again, let me learn from you something tonight (Night in my side). I will share your post as well, hope some one else will learn from you.
I am in the stressful situation right now.
wish you all the bright future my friend @sumatranate
Saya harap damai akan mengalir dalam kehidupanmu malam ini. Blessings as you face this stressful moment!
When challenges crash into my life, I usually start taking inventory. Who in my immediate tribe will be effected by this challenge and in what ways? Can I lessen negative impact on them? What do we have going for us right now, relevant to the challenge... For example, a financial challenge might mean I look at how much food and other everyday necessities we have, so I can plan priorities. I guess in a way, taking inventory is intentionally looking for the blessings that have already been put in place to help us weather an approaching storm.
I manage to stay cool during a challenge. But I tend to kind of callapse when it's over, when it's safe to let my guard down or get emotional or just stop thinking for a little while.
This is such a great point. It is so important to know who and what will be impacted. I like your idea about how taking inventory allows you to see the blessing in the middle of the storms we face.
Thanks for opening up about how you deal with challenges. I really appreciate it @powellx5!
Saya hanya perlu beberapa waktu untuk istrihat and berpikir. Saya sudah siap berinteraksi lagi dengan kommunitas Steemit.
This is so inspiring post. The way you wrote it was so simple to understand. Your thoughts here are full of positivity even somehow you are facing a stress in your life. That's right, in order to keep blessings coming, we just need to be optimistic in life.
Thanks for your kind words. I want to write in a way that is easy for others to understand. I am so glad that you feel that I am doing so. I am trying to stay positive right now. I need to keep a positive attitude.
Thanks @sumatranate for this precise but inspiring post. Truly, life is full of ups and downs -- battles, including the one between our hearts and heads (just like you've said); but we have the choice to remain cheerful, and not allowing our predicaments or feelings steal the best of life from us.
Thanks for stopping by. I choose not to allow the challenges steal the best of life. Appreciate your comment.
