From White to Blue Belt My BJJ Diary Training 13

in #bjj7 years ago

Today I had a private again.

Oh boy, they are really worth it. I am learning so much and I will do some budget magic to afford more.

We continued to work on the guard and got a bit into butterfly guard.

I need to focus that my head is front of the rest of my body so I wont be too easy to push over, also if possible I try to get an angle which helps with sweeps.

We finally started with some attacks. The Guillotine

It worked out pretty well, since I have practised it before.
But I got taught a lot of small details and some variations.

Also we chained it with a sweep from the butterfly guard and ending in the mount, which felt really cool and I kind of felt like a badass for a couple of seconds.

I should keep in mind that with a choke I should apply a bit of pressure all the time not only if I have everything set up. So I make it easier for myself to end up in the right position.

The next private will be on friday, but I am already excited to join the group training tomorrow.

It seems to be really important part of your life With so much commitment, the next strip colors are just a matter of time.
Keep it up. 👍

Yes, it is getting more important, which is good as it wants to make me take better care of myself.

Will do my best to keep it up :-)

Such an efficient technique! Keep it up! I am also planning to engage to MMA called gan soo do. It's a local MMA technique :)

cool!

never heard of it, need to ask google about it.

It's from the Philippines :)

How long have you been doing jits? Was knocking on blue belt myself but had to take a break, will start up again in january.

puh...hard to say I had my first session 2 years ago but took a long break. Now it was like I have never done anything before for the most part.

It seems you are really enjoying your training there and I must say it's inspiring to read and makes me want to get back in the game

you should!

Yes, it is great here. If you come to Phuket before you go to Sweden you should train a bit here.

I think that would be awesome. Combining good exercise and health with vacation :)

Atm I dont want to have it another way.

Looks very good!

thx but that is not me just a picture I pulled of google. But the training is great :-)

nice post tough training

I love playing off the bottom. Guard and half guard are def where I put most of my focus. When it comes to guard, my favorite combinations are setting up the guillotine off of a kumura attempt. There are also great transitions to 1.5, which open up the omoplata, kimura once again, triangle, and a foot lock if they attempt to roll out of omoplata. So much fun learning all the different ways to fight off your back.

Hope you are enjoying your training!

I am still a bit too early in my journey to really say where my strong positions are but I have learned a lot the last 2 weeks and I really like half guard now but also feel way more confident in being in someones half guard.

I enjoy my training a lot so far :-)

Re-steemed og upvoted!

thx a lot :-)

you're welcome

Love me some Butterfly guard, its a great place to start from as a White Belt and fairly easy to pick up

yes, slowly getting an idea what I supposed to do but still a lot to learn, but the butterfly guard is helping a lot
