Bitshares - State of the Network - 28th November 2017

The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.

Observation from this week

This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.

  • This week has seen a massive 36% increase in the smartcoin supply within the Bitshares platform. The largest increase in circulating supply came from BitUSD which has increased by 40% and BitCNY by 22%

  • Bitshares will get a consensus level upgrade in the coming weeks. The protocol upgrade to Bitshares Core 2.0.171105a has been scheduled for the 8th of December 2017 at 15:40:00 UTC. All participating witnesses are reminded to upgrade the core software before the change. More details HERE

  • A new Bitshares gateway and hosted wallet have launched this week GDEX.IO, The GDEX gateway only supports BTC at the moment but they are looking to add ETH, NEO, QTUM, BCH, IOTA and more in the near future. GDEX is operated by OBSIDIAN TECHNOLOGY CO. PTE. LTD. a company incorporated under the laws of Singapore Republic, the support team work in the office in Shanghai, China. You can find more information HERE

  • @abit has used the worker proposal system to gauge shareholder support for BSIP-26 - Refund Order Creation Fee in Originally Paid Asset on Cancel and BSIP-27 - Asset Issuer Reclaim Fee Pool Funds. If you support the BSIP's and would like to see them implemented you can vote on the proposals within Bitshares Wallet under the 'Voting' tab.

  • PoloniEX has re-enabled its Bitshares wallet for Deposit and Withdrawal. Still no statement has been made as to the reason why it was disabled. The Bitshares spokesperson is still awaiting a response..

  • has developed a 'Rough Guide to WALLET MANAGEMENT on the BitShares DEX' and a 'Rough Guide to Trading on BitShares DEX for beginners'. Despite the titles both these guides are great resources and go into a good level of detail.

  • Details of another Bitcoin hardfork has surfaced.. Lightning Bitcoin (LBTC) is proposed to form Bitcoin on block #499,999 (~23rd of December 2017). The forked chain will mirror balances onto a chain running DPOS (Delegated Prrof of Stake). Not a lot of details are out so far but what ever the case this maybe great exposure for Bitshares and the DPOS consensus mechanism. You can find more details HERE

  • A few Bitshares related articles have been released on Huffington post this week; Authored by @Michaelx you can see from the level of detail and length of these post he has been very busy. Please find the links to follow: Is Tether (USDT) Being Used for Money Laundering?, How The Blockchain Is Revolutionizing The Remittance Industry For The Unbanked, Is Poloniex Manipulating the Price of BitShares and Tether’s USDT Hacked for $31 Million

Wow so much great news. For anyone to have the opinion Bitshares is a shit coin they really do have their head in the sand.

Bitshares is not a shit coin, it's a hit-coin! Cause its gonna knock all the others right in the **** xD

Dear @steempower the BTS is most promising asset of my portfolio I purchased and averaged in dept and Oct 17 and I made 3 time profits.
Thank you.

Fantastic, let's short some more😎

Why do we get weekly reports with such great details and amazing insights on BTS?

And we see nothing on weekly status of STEEM??

Is that a to obvious question that is answered somewhere else on STEEMIT and I havent been looking in the right place????

An officer of the palace guard says this after the ghost of the dead king appears, walking over the palace walls. Note : “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark” is used to describe corruption or a situation in which something is wrong.

Thanks @steempower for sharing these amazing updates, Bitshares has overtook Steem in terms of market cap.

thanks. this is nice story update..

I got some bitshares, and I have used the site. But using a Bridge to buy BTS is EXPENSIVE. Also the site is pretty complicated.

Thanks for letting us know!

Thanks for info @steempower

I have bought bitshares in Poloniex as many as 0.05 BTC. When prices hit the lowest level this month, 0.00001167 / BTS. Until now I have not sold it. I hope could sale it at the best price later. 😎

I wouldn't know what the technical side of Bitcoin is without people like you dissecting this information and making it understandable.

This is Bitshares not bitcoin. Big difference!

what I really liked is that my bitshares deposit address on BTS DEX is my username, it was so easy and fast to move all my shares from polo...highly recommend, just do it ! Feel much safer inside...

The best day of the week just arrived! Excellent summary of weekly BTS information!

Tweeted out again for you. Have a good end to the week!

This post needs a theme song, like moving on up or started on the bottom now I’m here!

New to cryptocurrency... I been researching bitshares and it looks like it has a promising future. They just need to make it easier for beginners to start up its a bit confusing on how to buy.

Good post! Visit our blog and see the latest news :D Greetings

I really like the the protocol upgrade, the performance improvement in the core it's really appreciated!, keep bitshares growing!

Hello & Cheers!! I'm a content detection and information bot. You are receiving this reply because a short link or links have been detected in your post/comment. The purpose of this message is to inform your readers and yourself about the use of and dangers of short links.

To the readers of the post: Short links are provided by url shortening services. The short links they provide can be useful in some cases. Generally their use is benign. But as with all useful tools there are dangers. Short links can be used to hide all sorts of things. Quite frequently they are used to hide referral links for instance. While not dangerous this can be deceptive. They can also be used to hide dangerous links such as links to phishing sites, sites loaded with malware, scam sites, etc. You should always be extremely cautious before clicking on one. If you don't know and trust the poster don't click. Even if you do you should still be cautious and wary of any site you are sent to. It's always better to visit the site directly and not through a short link.

To the author of the post: While short links may be useful on some sites they are not needed on steemit. You can use markdown to format your links such as this link to steemit. It's as simple as [steemit]( Unlike short links this allows the reader to see where they are going by simply hovering over the link before they click on it.

This message was created by a bot. It is part of the ongoing fight against spam and phishing attacks on steemit. If you did not use short links in your post and feel you have received this message in error you can contact @fubar-bdhr on discord or @fubar.bdhr on steemit chat to report the issue.

Good to have this info! It's not easy for a newbie to get the hang of it :-) I have a question regarding the Openledger account you need to have. For deposit and Withdrawal of fiat you need to register with all kinds of personal info. Is this also needed to deposit or withdrawal btc or other crypto?

No personal information is needed to withdraw/deposit BTC. Personal information is only for fiat.

Seems like Bitshares is a really nice and fast cryptocurrency compared to the others. I don't get it why it is so less known out there. i Invested 50 € in Bitshares and it has already doubled :-) Let's see what the future brings, the small time for a transaction to be confirmed is a good value for the currency.

Long post but I still read it all. Nice post.

Congratulations @steempower!
Your post was mentioned in the hit parade in the following category:

  • Pending payout - Ranked 3 with $ 168,8

I keep losing money on bittrex to weird actions. I moved everything to bitshares the other day, and sent some usdt back to my bittrex.

USDT was down without me knowing.
Then Bittrex has removed my ability to withdraw and trade usdt, so that money is probably lost. Would hit up their office if it was too much...

Anyway since coming to this exchange I have done much better and things seem active with healthy levels of random.

I'm happy

Great job analyzing this, good work here OP.
