Welcome to the 23rd Bitshares State of the Network (BSotN) report. I will be releasing this report weekly to look at the changes in the ecosystem and track longer term changes in a effort to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares platform.
Bitshares - State of the Network - 21st February 2017
The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.
Observation from this week
This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.
Bitshares Sharesholders have approve a block reward increase to 3BTS per block (previously 1.5 BTS). This network change was approved by way of stake weighted voting utilizing the governance features built into the network. 70% of Committee members have coordinate the change which will open for shareholder review on the 24th of Feb 00:00 UTC; 1 hour after this time the change will go live. Alfredo Garcia (Bitshares Core Dev) has fixed a number of issue this week including a long standing problem of the websocket 'spamming' to much data to clients; clients could subscribe to certain events but would also get a lot of other data such as new blocks and some operations. next week he is also tackling a personal favorite of mine and implementing a api call to return specifically account trade history for specific user and asset pair. Peerplays have released a comprehensive document relating to Primary Crowdfund, the finalized token allocations, sneak previews of development plans, analysis of the industry and an overview of the PBSA. you can find the Document link in their post HERE. They have also announced that they have already secured 4 Million dollars from strategic donors!
@xeroc has had his worker proposal accepted by the Bitshares shareholders and has been working to provide a tool (named uptick) to allow easy interaction to Bitshares via the command line; this tool also requires a python based library which will allows developers a rich set to tools to assist in app development. Christoph Hering (@chris4210) Co-Founder & CEO of Bitshares Munich has announced their BlockPay world tour with at least 13 events being attend before mid year 2017!! See the list of events and see if you will be lucky enough to join an event with them HERE
Bitshares user BitCrab has had his advertising worker proposal accepted by the Bitshares shareholders and the advertisement is currently live on BTC8 which is the most popular blockchain website in China.
Bitshares user Bitcrab and @jonnybitcoin have been building liquidity for some USD pegged markets. As of today their is $7500 of buy and sell walls on Open.USDT:BitUSD with a 3 cent spread.
