It's probably because your connection to the nearest node is too slow. you can try changing the node in the bitshares settings or login in to openledger instead.
I've found a couple of times that openledger is faster than bitshares even if it's connected to the same node.
Try resyncing it to a node closer to you. that worked for me at least. go to the settings then click on access, and you should be able to sync to a node closer to you
It looks like the closest node near to me is in Singapore.. damn there is no local node here :(
BTW I was wondering if there was a way for me to start a local node.. I wonder if doing so can cover my cost or the nodes are monopolized by the top witnesses like here on Steemit

it's annoying the node gets slow when the price is low and I want to buy 😝
The nodes have been slow the past couple of days but I've never seen this before.
