The Risks of Segregated Witnesss and Contract Law
If a way exists to mutate...forge a signature that is no good. If an agency is able to get into your account because of some backdoor...guess what, hackers can too. Doesn't really support best cases in privacy does it if that is possible.
Yet, as we have seen, SegWit is not concerned with maintaining digital signatures, only with validating transactions as they occur.
That was definitely a trip down the rabbit hole, wow. When you pause to think about it for a few moments, it makes perfect sense. Anytime money is involved the creatures of the night reach out and try to extinguish the light.
I've grown quite pessimistic in regards to the stock market and the banking industry over the years, and now realize I've been a little naive in regards to crypto and block chain. I do feel it's an incredible opportunity for the masses to gain a level of financial and personal freedom not currently present in any other medium today, but it's going to be a fight to keep it decentralized and keep the vampire squid at bay.
