Is Anyone Else Bothered By The Mystery Of Bitcoin's Creator?

in #bitcoin7 years ago

The crypto universe is designed to be open, open source and decentralized, but does it bother you that the creator is still a mystery?

Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin. The first coin that spawned the ideas and concepts for all others to follow. The thing is, we know nothing about the person or people that call themselves Satoshi Nakamoto. I have read in many places that he also holds a million Bitcoin. That's worth billions. Plus other forked coins.

That person or entity has world changing money and it is only growing.

The idea that we can still create money out of thin air, which is basically what we are doing, has me worried slightly for the long-term vitality of the crypto universe.  The unknown causes some doubt, some skepticism in my mind.

To be honest, I'm still in. I will continue to use this incredible platform and buy, trade and sell cryptos. I'll use them when I and help to grow the community the best I can. But there is this little voice in the back of my head telling me to be cautions.

At first I tried to block out the voice because I was enamored with the crypto world. But now, since my early day investments have gong way up, I have more to lose now. I don't want to lose what I've gained, so I am trying to be careful.

The voice kept telling me that I shouldn't do Bitconnect. I had the money back in November after the Bitcoin spike and almost started loaning three times. All three times, I left and never pulled the trigger. That voice was just telling me to be cautions.

Cryptocurrency is like a minefield right now. If you stay in it long enough, you're going to take a hit somewhere. It is going to be hard to go the long run with coins failing and projects getting hacked and stuff. It's important to diversify, but it is also important to listen to that voice in your head.

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Steemit seems too good to be true, until you realize the amount of work it takes to be successful on here.

So I'm not saying that crypto is bad, not at all. I am saying that there are things like not knowing Satoshi Nakamoto is one of them. Listen to the voice in your head and be smart with your crypto endeavors. This is a wild, volatile world and almost anything could happen at anytime.

Does the mystery around Bitcoin's founder bother you at all?

Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading.

The mystery surrounding the creator of Bitcoin is fascinating to me as is the crypto currency concept. I just can’t wrap my head round how the value is apportioned to it. Either way I enjoy the atmosphere on this platform and the seemingly genuine nature of the interactions.

I agree with you, it does fascinate me too. I can't shake it, but love the crypto world and especially steemit. Thanks for the great reply and I appreciate you reading.

LOL Why would the anonymity bother me considering everything but what you can hold in your hand (crypto/fiat) is just another idea looking to capture your imagination or beliefs...

In so many ways you are 100% right. lol

LOL you are learning grasshopper ;-)

I can see why it would bother you, but then I am not too worried about the anonymity behind it or see it as a reason to distrust Bitcoin. The technology has proven to be open, transparent and efficient, and there isn't any need for "trust" or "caution" here.

I definitely don't distrust Bitcoin or the technology, and I'm big into crypto, but it does loom out there. The question of who and why was it started. It's just interesting and won't keep me away, but like I said, I can't shake the questions. Thanks for reading and the reply. You got a new follower.

There are many hidden figures with world changing money. I don't mind Satoshi being one of them if his creation has spurred an ideology that will only serve to make the world more transparent.

I agree about the more transparent part, but what if Satoshi is the same group of hidden figures you are talking about? I really agree that I don't mind either, I'm into crypto big-time. lol You got a new follower. Thanks for reply.

If you're aware of 'him' and it doesn't bother you, then there has to be something wrong with your thinking. The fact that 'he' had the foresight to include so many places after the decimal for the currency is something also that should raise alarms. This is a superhero type character, in every sense. Give the 'people' what they think they want, lead the opposition and you will secure your place at the top for as long as you can keep up this balancing act.

I'm with you mate. I am suspicious about a lot of the little information I think I know but see the way the world is headed and don't want to be disadvantaged unnecessarily by my own inaction. I don't see it as taking advantage of a situation, though perhaps it is, rather I see it as a means of self defense.

A worthwhile question to be asking @walkingkeys. I hope your day is going well mate.
