🗞 EDCON Toronto Highlights Ethereum’s Cutting Edge

The second Community Ethereum Development Conference kicked off in Toronto today. The event features technical talks by leading members of the Ethereum community on some of the most pressing ecosystem initiatives.

The three-day Community Ethereum Development Conference (EDCON) kicked off in Toronto this morning. The nonprofit conference series, organized by the Ethereum application developer and consultancy firm LinkTime, is meant to serve as a type of Ethereum-specific TED Talk. Here, the technicalities of Ethereum's most advanced research are discussed alongside broader social and governmental issues as the platform continues to take shape.

BCH Ecosystem Grows With May 4X Hard Fork Less Than Two Weeks Away

This week there’s a lot going on within the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) ecosystem as markets have been on fire and infrastructure continues to grow. Over the past six months, the price of BCH is up over 139 percent, and the price has jumped 13 percent higher over the last seven days. At the moment the value of BCH hovers just above the $1,500 USD price region, and traders have been swapping over $1.2Bn worth of bitcoin cash over the last 24-hours.

🗞 Ethiopian Gov’t Signs Agreement With Cardano To Introduce Blockchain In Agritech

The Ethiopian government has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with cryptocurrency startup Cardano (ADA), The Next Web reports May 3. The agreement will see Ethiopian developers apply blockchain technology to the country’s agritech industry.

🗞 Reddit Plans to Reinstate Cryptocurrency Payments

After Reddit removed Bitcoin Core (BTC) as a form of payment for premium membership services this past March, the company seems to be planning to reinstate the digital asset soon. On Thursday, May 3 in an interview with Cheddar, the company’s chief technology officer (CTO), Chris Slowe, revealed it will be adding BTC again and more cryptocurrencies as well.

🗞 These ICO Investors Are Getting Their Money Back - And It's Not Clear Why

In what seems like the latest sign concerns are impacting initial coin offerings (ICOs) broadly, Seattle-based Dragonchain is forcing one of its affiliate projects, Norwegian startup Iagon, to return funds it raised from investors back in April - and it's currently unclear why.

In fact, on April 28, the day its presale was scheduled to end, Iagon published a Medium post explaining to investors that the sale had been paused. Notably, it wasn't Iagon's idea; the company had recently joined an incubator backed by Dragonchain, and it was Dragonchain, an enterprise blockchain startup spun out of Disney, that brought the hammer down.

🗞 Mastercard Says Fewer Crypto Purchases Led To Drop in First Quarter Growth

Mastercard’s quarterly growth was marked by a slight drop due to a decrease in the number of customers purchasing cryptocurrencies with the company’s credit cards, CNBC reported May 3.

"There's a lot of concerns even in Japan because one of their biggest exchanges got hacked. As you can see, right now there's a little less interest than there was in the latter part of the fourth quarter and the first quarter."

Even with the current Break Out on the BTC, the STEEM is still not decided if we will do a UP or a DOWN. We are still stucked in the middle of our 2 lines and even if we have some moves, no one of them is able to go test one of the 2 lines.

Patience is the attitude to have now for the STEEM. It is really too much risky to trade it now as it could go in one of the 2 directions, even with a UP on the BTC...
