🗞 Goldman Sachs to Begin Bitcoin Futures Trading Within Weeks

Investment banking giant Goldman Sachs will use its own money to trade bitcoin futures on behalf of its clients, according to the New York Times.

The Times reported Wednesday that while the exact launch date of the new trading operation is not yet set, the move came after the bank's board of directors signed off on the initiative. Goldman is also set to "create its own, more flexible version of a future, known as a non-deliverable forward, which it will offer to clients," according to the report.

Interest in Cryptocurrency Derivatives Drives CFD Marketplace’s Revenues up 284%

Derivatives trading platform provider Plus500 posted a 284% increase in revenues in the first quarter of this year compared to the previous year, largely due to high levels of interest in its cryptocurrency CFDs offerings.

The city of Berkeley, California has moved forward with an initiative to apply blockchain technology to public financing to raise funds for community projects, Bloomberg reports May 2. Last night the Berkeley city council unanimously voted to ask the city manager to consider a pilot program that proposes selling municipal bonds using blockchain technology.

🗞 BlackRock Investment Firm Analysts Quit To Establish $20 mln Blockchain Venture Fund

Three analysts quit their jobs at $6.3 trln international investment giant BlackRock to found a $20 mln venture capital fund Eterna Capital, which will focus on blockchain projects, Financial News reported May 2.

“One example is the disintermediation of banks in under-banked third-world countries, so people don’t need banks to get a loan, as the money can be held on the blockchain. Or selling solar power between neighbors, rather than relying on an energy firm, is another example of how blockchain can be used for social impact.”

🗞 Reddit Co-Founder Says Ethereum Price Will Reach $15,000 This Year

Alexis Ohanian, a co-founder of Reddit, said that he predicts the price of Ethereum (ETH) will reach $15,000 in 2018, Fortune reports May 2.

Ohanian, who now works full-time at a venture capital (VC) firm Initialized Capital, said in an interview, “At the end of the year, Bitcoin will be at $20,000. And Ethereum will be at $15,000. Great, now people can call me out if I’m wrong.” He said that he’s bullish on ETH because “people are actually building on it.”

As you can see, we are in the middle of 2 major lines, one is a resistance line, the other is a support line. The market is in waiting mode and I expect that we will simply follow the direction of the Bitcoin till we are able touch again one of these lines.

I don't like to trade this kind of momentum because it is really difficult to predict with good probabilities the direction that it will take. I advise you to simply wait that the market chose a direction and to follow it.
