🗞 Not Just a Bubble: Blockchain Is Already Delivering on the Hype

In Monty Python's "Life of Brian," there's a famous scene in which John Cleese's character is stirring up a group against the Romans.

He's trying to get them all frothed up about the supposed righteousness of their cause and the uselessness of the Romans, until reality intrudes. One by one, members of the crowd begin listing off all the things the Romans actually have brought to the community, from roads to medicine to sanitation, thereby contradicting his criticism and undermining his point.

18% of ICOs Are Straight-Up Scams: Wall Street Journal

ICO scams are one of the biggest challenges to have rocked the cryptocurrency industry, greatly undermining people’s confidence in the nascent industry. While investors have become increasingly aware of these scams, fraudsters are still widespread and millions of dollars are still lost every year. According to the Wall Street Journal, over 18% of ICOs are pure scams, with many more also likely to fail. The research attributes the continued rise of ICO scams to investors’ appetite for “guaranteed returns” which makes them easy prey for fraudsters.

🗞 A Survey Of Second Layer Solutions For Blockchain Scaling, Part 3

This article, the last in a series of three, provides a brief overview of some of the off-chain instruments that developers are building in order to scale blockchains. Be sure to go back and read part one and part two.

Currently, the leading blockchain networks (in terms of number of users) process information too slowly to service a mainstream user base in the billions, or even in the tens of millions. While cryptocurrency has captured the public's attention, many of the entities interacting directly with blockchain networks are still hobbyists, ideologues, and technologists. As Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin himself recently noted, the Ethereum network is currently too "unscalable" to support, say, a widely-used ridesharing mobile application.

🗞 Marvel, The Simpsons Go Crypto

Crypto is set for yet another banner year, especially if mainstream portrayals of it are any indication. Marvel Comics’ Hunt for Wolverine – Adamantium Agenda #1 and The Simpsons: Tapped Out video game are both working-in references to cryptocurrency into their respective storylines and quests in attempt to capture some of the excitement regarding money’s future.

🗞 BCH Miners Discuss Funding Development With a Fraction of Block Rewards

On May 19 a group of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) miners met after the Coingeek Conference in Hong Kong to discuss a new proposal which would fund BCH development and professional programmers who work on the protocol. The funding would stem from a portion of the miners block reward, and attendees discussed donating between 1-5 percent of rewards to fund developers.

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yesterday :

Here is the current chart :

We are going in the direction of our resistance line at 3.25$. The BTC is currently increasing so I'm expecting than a UP will come soon on the STEEM also to help us to reach that objective. That break should happen during a break out which will go outside the bollinger bands. We do'nt have so much volume and volatility currently so I think that this move will occur very soon.
