The price of bitcoin has surpassed the $8,300 mark. This is roughly $200 higher than where it stood yesterday, and the currency has spiked by approximately five percent over the last 24 hours.

The prices of cryptocurrencies are exploding as the week comes to an end. Entities like Ethereum are also up, while the cryptocurrency market cap has added roughly $40 billion to its overall worth.

Cryptocurrency is Property in Russia, Justice Minister Confirms

The Russian Ministry of Justice has taken side in what looks like a lively debate about the status of cryptocurrencies that are still unregulated in the country. A bankruptcy case involving a modest amount of bitcoin has sparked discussions in Russian legal circles. Some say a crypto is nothing more than “a set of characters.” Others, including the justice minister, are categorical – cryptocurrency can’t be anything else but property.

🗞 At Ripple's Snoop Dogg Party, A Search for XRP

Would this be one of those crypto events? A star past his prime pumping the flavor of the month?

As part of the first-ever New York Blockchain Week, Snoop Dogg was booked to perform at the XRP Community Night on Tuesday. The event, as the name would suggest, was meant to celebrate XRP, a cryptocurrency most closely tied with the San Francisco startup Ripple. The party could have provided the latest example of a celebrity hyping crypto: Floyd Mayweather, Dennis Rodman and Paris Hilton have each pumped one token or another in recent months.

🗞 Former UK Visa CEO Takes Helm of Crypto Consumer Payment Startup

Marc O’Brien, who worked for Visa between 2008 and 2014, has recently joined crypto consumer payment startup Crypterium, which aims to make it possible to spend crypto in everyday situations, Business Insider reports. Speaking on the importance of crypto adoption as a medium of exchange, O’Brien told Business Insider:

“The idea is that cryptocurrency is actually quite difficult today to use as an everyday method of payment. If you were to go to an exchange with your Bitcoin or your Ether it would probably take you 3 to 7 days to get that money paid out into a normal bank account. What Crypterium will do is make that whole process seamless and give an opportunity for a consumer to actually use their cryptocurrency to pay for everyday items.”

🗞 VC Firm Behind Snapchat Looks to Ramp up its Crypto Investments, Report Says

The venture capital firm behind Snapchat is looking at ways to increase their investments in the crypto industry, tech journal Recode reported May 17.

Aaron Batalion, a partner at venture capital firm Lightspeed, is leading an effort to boost the firm’s investment by exploring three methods: setting up a new fund, carving out a portion of an existing fund, or launching an entirely new project, Recode reports, citing “sources”.

As predicted yesterday, we went in the direction of my objective at 3.30$. The UP is consolidating till a touched at 3.20$ as you con see on the chart. We are now in the middle of our 2 lines and we should see a break out in one of the direction. Let's hope the market will go break our resistance line at 3.30$.
