🗞 Messaging Giant LINE Is Launching Its Own Cryptocurrency

Messaging giant LINE has become one of the first publicly traded companies to have launched a proprietary blockchain mainnet with its own cryptocurrency.

Revealed in an announcement Friday, the firm said that the genesis block of its LINK Chain was produced on Aug. 23. The messaging giant now aims to gradually issue a total of 1 billion of the network's LINK tokens, of which 800 million will be distributed to public users while the rest will be held as a company reserve.

🗞 Square Wins Patent for Crypto Payment Network

• Digital payments firm Square has won a patent for a payment network that allows merchants to accept payments in any currency, including Bitcoin and another cryptocurrencies.

• Square is not the first payment processor to offer this capability, but it already has ‘tremendous market penetration’, so adding crypto payments to its system would allow millions of merchants to accept Bitcoin without having to on-board another payment processor, or manually convert crypto funds into fiat.

🗞 Bitcoin Price Loses 10% In August But Long-Term Bottom May Be In

Bitcoin (BTC) is all set to end August with double digit-losses, but a closer look at the price action suggest better times lie ahead for the leading cryptocurrency.

At time of writing, BTC is trading at $6,940 – down 10.7 percent from the month's opening price of $7,727, according to CoinDesk's Bitcoin Price Index. However, losses would have been much bigger had prices not recovered from the six-week lows below $5,900 seen on Aug. 14.

Indeed, the bitcoin market has witnessed a solid two-way business this month.

🗞 Korean Province to Replace Local Currencies With Crypto

An eastern South Korean province plans to issue its own cryptocurrency to replace the local currencies of its nine cities, according to local media. An exchange will be established for the new crypto. The coins can be used for payments within the province and merchants can accept them using smartphone QR codes.

As you can see, the red suport line (diagonal line) is currently holding the correction that we have on the STEEM. This line must continue to do its job if we want to keep the UP trend of the last days. If we break it, I'm really afraid that we will do new lows on the STEEM so let's be positive and keep an eye on that resistance line in orange at 1$ that we must break to continue the UP.
