🗞 Ethereum's Next Upgrade Could Be the $29 Billion Blockchain's Biggest Test Yet

Hard forks are never easy.

By definition, such system-wide upgrades require every software user to upgrade to new rules near-simultaneously, meaning there's coordination difficulties that need to be overcome to ensure the code continues to operate as designed. Still, in a upcoming October upgrade named Constantinople, ethereum is faced with a perhaps unique challenge — how to find a balance between a web of diverse stakeholders, each battling for different outcomes.

🗞 Filecoin Looks to Mid-2019 for Blockchain Storage Network Launch

Coindesk reports that Filecoin is planning to officially launch its blockchain-based data storage network sometime near the middle of 2019.

The Filecoin roadmap was released yesterday alongside the release of demos for Filecoin’s go-filecoin protocol implementation.

Filecoin plans to launch a ‘testnet’ sometime between Q4 2018 and Q1 2019, and a ‘mainnet’ sometime in Q2/Q3 2019.

🗞 Payment Platform Bitpay Adds Bitcoin Cash Settlement Services

On Wednesday, August 29 the Atlanta-based firm Bitpay announced that its merchants can now receive settlement in bitcoin cash (BCH). Not only can Bitpay merchants accept the decentralized digital currency and keep all the bitcoin cash, but they can also split their funds into a fraction of fiat and BCH as well.

🗞 Standard Chartered, Siemens Partner on Blockchain Pilot to ‘Fully Digitize’ Bank Guarantees

UK multinational banking and financial services company Standard Chartered (SC) disclosed it is working on a blockchain pilot for bank guarantees using R3 Corda blockchain technology in a press release Thursday, August 30.

In partnership with Siemens’ financing arm Siemens Financial Services (SFS) and trade finance platform TradeIX, the pilot began operating in March and aims to be complete by the end of 2018.

🗞 Reserve Bank of India Anticipates Shift to P2P Crypto Trading

India’s central bank has released its latest annual report which includes a section dedicated to cryptocurrency. The Reserve Bank of India outlines the risks posed by crypto and emphasizes the need to monitor crypto development in anticipation that some trading may shift from exchanges to peer-to-peer (P2P) mode.

The resistance line in orange has been tested several times these last hours but we failed to break it. We should have a little consolidation just under that line or a little drop till the resistance line in red before a new test to try to break it. In the case of a drop, the resistance line in red must hold this correction or the Up trend of the last days will be cancelled.
