Steem ranked better than bitcoin according to the Weiss first cryptocurrency ratings on January 24
Hi there, today I want to share with you some important information about the crypto galaxy and how steem is rocking the scene, in this new cryptocurrency ratings on 24 January 2018 made by Weiss Ratings.
What is Weiss Ratings?
Weiss Ratings, which began in 1971, is the nation’s leading independent rating agency of financial institutions. Today, Weiss Ratings assigns letter grades to about 55,000 institutions and investments, including nearly all of the nation’s insurance companies, banks, credit unions, stocks, ETFs and mutual funds.
And they just made their first issued its first cryptocurrency ratings on 24 January 2018
How the ratings work?
The Weiss ratings will analyze thousands of data points on each coin’s technology, usage, and trading patterns to reveal which coins might offer the safest returns, the best protection against a market crash and more.
"We are applying our 46 years of accuracy and independence to cryptocurrencies," its statement reads. "The Weiss Cryptocurrency Ratings can also be a vital selection tool for consumers holding cryptocurrencies to buy goods and services, for merchants accepting payment in cryptocurrencies, and for any entity seeking to raise money via cryptocurrencies," its statement reads.
Understand The Weiss Ratings Scale?
Investors should interpret the Weiss Cryptocurrency grade scale with these terms:
A = excellent
B = good
C = fair
D = weak
E = very weak
A plus or minus sign indicates the upper third or lower third of a grade range, respectively. In addition, an F grade is assigned to cryptocurrencies that have failed or are subject to credible allegations of fraud.
Weiss cryptocurrency rating report:
Ethereum and EOS are in the top of the rating, they received a B rating, with no coins or tokens receiving an A rating, most likely due to the fact it benefits from more readily upgradeable technology, with a development team moving fast on it, as well as better speeds.
In second position and better ranked than bitcoin we have Steem, Cardano and NEO deemed to be the next best crypto investments by Weiss receiving B- ratings.
Bitcoin comes in 3rd position receiving a C+ rating from the firm, due to the fact that its network has some serious weakness which has resulted in long transaction delays and fees.
Ripple only managed to receive a rating of C, despite been the third-largest cryptocurrency and its partnerships with big global financial institutions.
- Ethereum & EOS received B rating as the higher ranking in this first issued report.
- Steem, Cardano & NEO ranked in second position with a B- rating.
- Bitcoin ranked number 3 with a C+ rating.
