Just curious at what everyone thinks about mining. Is it still something that is profitable? Or is it more like, its a waste of time and energy.
I have a GTX 1080 and I was planning on buying some more so i'd have a decent rig.
Thoughts on mining right now?
Mining is literally as profitable as its ever been. I used to mine bitcoin in 2010-11. GPU mining is where it is at right now. Check out whattomine.com to see what's best to mine on your 1080.
Right now, whattomine is showing HUSH as the most profitable to mine on your 1080 at just over $7 per day. Thats over $2500/year if profitability sustains (I'm expecting it to actually increase).
I was using Nicehash on my laptop (Not the best laptop for mining, but it did have a 970m) and it was pretty slow. Im guessing with 2+ 1080's the profit would be faster?
And with that, do you think BTC mining is profitable or would you rather mine alt coins and sell them for BTC?
