Steem and SBD are doing great holding their value while Bitcoin continues to fall. But its about to get worse.
My plan right now is to wait for the bottom of the next big dip then jump in on a few coins at once. XRP, ADA, BAT, ETH
I would go more in on Steem and EOS but I am already way too invested in these coins already. It really all depends on how deep this dip goes though. If the dip ends with Bitcoin being 9k+ then I might just go in on XRP for a short position. But if the dip goes nice and deep and I see everything is 60-70% its current value then I will buy in on long positions.
I am hoping that I can grab some ETH at 800-900 on this next dip for sure. I am really glad that Steem and EOS have been such amazing and solid "home" coins for me thus far. Good luck everyone and be careful with your choices in the coming days.
Make sure you check out the larger candles because it's not all doom and gloom, just something that had to happen. The future looks good!

If you look at trends Bitcoin has followed in January and February you will see that January tends to have a big dump with a slow recovery. And it will literally take until October / December before you see those numbers again.
BTC is not going to rally like people keep claiming it will.
I noticed this about 2 hours ago. Steem and SBD dropped a little. SBD can go up to $ 8 today.

I say wait a little longer before putting money in. Just in case BTC drops again. I am fully expecting another decent drop.
Right you are!! I checked this morning and BTC was sitting just above 10k, hoping I can buy in a little at 8 or 9 if the decent drop gets more decent.
Its looking about ripe to take a dump very soon.
@thecastle you would have done the right thing. everyone is upset about this collapse, but they can not understand that it is an investment opportunity. Those who see this are investing and waiting for the exits
Ethereum at $800 is an opportunity which I missed the last dip. I'll be glad if it reoccurs. That's the only regret I have from the past dip.
XRP at 83 cents is my regret so far.
XRP is still pretty down. It will rise high in days to come. There was a time when BTC market cap was in danger. But then China and Korea stopped the bull.
I'm high on XRP. Need to add some ETH to my portfolio.
It went from 83 to $1.60 had I got in that would have been really nice.
Market is still too volatile. I think day trading for a week or 2 is our best bet right now.
