The question posed is on the mark. The best coin I've seen out there is Dash. I've heard people trash it, but their mindset seems similar to Apple's mindset before Apple "went big" with it's iPod's and iPhones. Not that BTC will fade to nothing--far from it.

I foresee a battle (hopefully a friendly one) between one of the emerging altcoins and BTC, and my bets are on Dash as the "digital David" to BTC's Goliath.
