This Hat was my First Bitcoin Purchase

in #bitcoin6 years ago

This hat was my first Bitcoin purchase... or at least my first Bitcoin purchase I can admit to without incriminating myself haha.

My girlfriend had been wanting one of these Beardo hats for a while. While she flatters me and listens to me ramble about Bitcoin and Crypto, she isn't that into it herself.

I told her if she could figure out how to download a Bitcoin wallet and get her address to me I told her I would order her a couple of these hats.

She managed to figure it out, all be it with a little help from me. I sent her some Bitcoin and walked her through her first purchase.

Then something funny happenned. A week went by, then two weeks, and then three weeks. I asked her "hey did those hats show up yet?"

She had kind of forgotten about it herself but realized they should have arrived so she reached out to the company. Apparently we were their first Bitcoin purchase and they didn't really know how it worked. I believe they were using Bitpay, they didn't realize they had to confirm the transaction or something like that so our order never shipped.

They intially apologized and offered to refund the shipping which was only a couple bucks, seemed like kind of a crappy apology but whatever I'm not really one to complain. To our surprise however a day later they wrote back and said hey we wanna do a little more for you, pick out something else on the site under $15 and we'll include it with the order which they did.

Overall a pretty good experience for her first purchase despite the delay. The hats are actually pretty cool they can kind of unfold and transform from a hate into either a headband or a neck scarf. The bad part however is that this is back in November or there abouts so that $40 I spent on a couple hats actually wound up being more like $150 for hats lol.

That's very sweet of you. I should try to bribe my girlfriend to get her into crypto!

Hey @samuel-swinton yes bribery definitely works, however it's a dangerous game your playing brother. If your gf actually starts tracking the price of Bitcoin and sees your making money the bribes will increase lol

jajajaj this are early adopters bitcoin experiences, we have to wait some more until more systems starts accepting cryptocurrencies. But hey that company will be more willing to accept bitcoin in the near future. One more of many. Very good post :)

That's really cool. The first thing we did was give some away as gifts, also we gambled 10 Electroneum on ETN Bust...we went bust, lol, but it was fun.
