If you still have Bitcoin on Coinbase and your wanting to get it off Coinbase your fucked. I know the title was a bit dramatic, don't worry your not going to lose your Bitcoins, but at this point if you were wanting to get them off the exchange to take advantage of Bitcoin Cash, at this point it's not likely to happen.
I have a Bitcoin transfer from Coinbase to my Trezor going on 38 hours that is still pending. I'm not blaming Coinbase or whining however as it's my own stupid fault for waiting til the last minute, and at the end of the day I think this whole Bitcoin Cash thing is going to be a lot to do about nothing. Futures started off at close to $600 and are now below $400. I think by the time August 1 rolls around it will be even lower and once people start dumping it will fall even further, I don't think your going to miss out on much by not having Bitcoin Cash.

I think this goes to show everyone who has been warning people don't keep your money on an exchange was right. Sure Coinbase isn't going to steal from you, but your not able to move and control your coins how you would like to and that is a bad thing. This goes to show everyone should either get a Hardware wallet like a Ledger or a Trezor or keep your coins on a Wallet like Electrum and not on an exchange.
This Trick May Allow You To Move Your Bitcoins Off Coinbase
I havn't personally tried this yet but it's just a thought I had. If anyone has Bitcoin on Coinbase I highly doubt a transfer is going to go through in time. While Coinbase still technically says make your move by 10am July 31, it's doubtful they will go through.
Here is an idea I had which may allow you to move your money off Coinbase. Here's what it is...
Move your Bitcoin over to GDAX which should go through instantly. Trade your Bitcoin for LItecoin and/or Ethereum. Then since Litecoin and Ethereum transfers don't seem to be delayed send them to Bittrex or Poloniex or Kracken, trade it back into Bitcoin and then move those Bitcoin somewhere.
Sure you'll lose a little money on exchange fees and trasnfers but I think you should be able to move your Bitcoin wherever you want to move it.

Wow that's a real bummer about the delayed transfer. I moved mine from Coinbase to a Jaxx wallet several days ago and it took about 10 minutes.
Yeah while it is frustrating it's kind of annoying hearing people whine about it, I blame nobody but myself for leaving some coiins on there til the last minute. I started moving stuff a week ago and got lazy and said I'll do it later. While 36 hours to send is ridiculous its my own fault for waiting.
Yeah I guess. But they did say you could do it up till 7/31 at 10:00 so technically they should follow through.
I'm not sure we're even going to have a selloff. I don't see much evidence of panicking. This was my big opportunity to buy cheaply and it didn't happen lol.
My transfer finally cleared today Sunday 07/30 at about 12:40PM. Saw the email come through as I was sitting at breakfast/lunch.
I still have about a coin and a half I'm debating whether to move off or keep available for swing trading on GDAX.
I agree with you I think Coinbase wouldn't continue to issue the guidance about July 31 if they couldn't make the deadline but at the same time I'm shocked that they can allow people to withdraw that late with delays already being over 2 days
Yeah it makes you wonder what kind of limbo your coins would be in if you withdrew tomorrow. Glad to hear you got your final transfer.

How long were you pending for? I'm going on 36 hours and counting
18 hours here. Do you know what happens if theyre still pending aug 1? It was said that coins could be lost if sending while the fork happens?
I'm guessing tough luck we don't get them. I don't think it's a huge loss so I wouldn't worry too much about it but "free money" if you wanna call it that is still free money.
I have a little more BTC sitting on Coinbase. I'm not even gonna try to transfer it at this point. I'm debating whether to just leave it be or to swap it for Litecoin and try to transfer the Litecoin out
But couldnt your bitcoin be lost even?
I'm not that saavy but I guess potentially there could be some confusion or maybe a "replay attack" but at the end of the day if you transferred before the deadline and Coinbase didn't meet the time they promised I would think that would be on them to make you whole. Would rather not find myself in that situation though. My transfer just went through about an hour ago. I still have a coin and a half sitting in Coinbase debating whether to leave it on GDAX to trade with or ot send it over to my trezor
My transfer completed now too. 22 hours later. I have some left but i think ill just keep it there until this blows over and then get it out one experience richer. Must say ive learnt a lot about cryptos these past months, like probably many others :)
