My Love Letter To Bitcoin. May You Rest In Peace!
My Dearest Bitcoin
It's been 16 months since we first met.
I felt a little shy, because you were part of a world I had never visited before and knew nothing about. You were so vibrant, full of life and ready to conquer the world that I decided to take the jump into the unknown.
And you delivered. Everything you promised me became reality.
You did conquer the world and made it to the top of the list.
Looking back now I think I can admit that I completely fell in love with you.
I did cheat on you, though. Multiple times. Those younger cryptos were too attractive to resist. I even sold you to be able to have exciting adventures with brand new coins. Not because I had to, but because you gave me the opportunity to explore the world of cryptocurrency. You gave me a chance to travel through the world you introduced me to.
It's hard to believe that my journey - our journey - only started a little over a year ago. So many things have changed.
I'll be honest: today, you're a bit old-fashioned, you're slow and you're very expensive. Bitcoin forks are no exception anymore. Younger, faster and cheaper coins are trying to take your place. The people behind those coins are not only using your technology - it's easier to fork than to start from scratch - but they are also thriving on your carefully built reputation. New coins built on your blockchain which are carrying your name are so much easier to hype, simply because you are still so popular ánd the leader of the pact.
I feel really sorry for you, because every new fork has a negative influence on your strength, reputation and credibility.
You'll always be my first love, but we both know that change is the only constant in life. Technology evolves so fast that there will be a day your place at the top of the list will be taken over by a younger, smarter, faster and cheaper version of you.
It was you who took the first steps in the direction of mass adoption, and that's something I'll never forget. You could say you were the pioneer.
But if we go further down the road and want to finish the journey you started, changes will be necessary. You'll have to undergo all these challenges and probably have to take a step back if we want to achieve the mass adoption you've worked so hard for.
Please know that you'll always be my first love, and that this is a once in a lifetime experience. No other coin can take that away from you. If you lose the battle, do it with pride. Prepare for your reputation to be destroyed, but always remember that you are thé Bitcoin, the one that opened the doors to other, bigger worlds.
You'll always be remembered as the past that used to be the future...

My version.
Dear Bitcoin,
there were 18 of us, me and 17 instances of you.
Together we were a happy family, it was a great time.
Now it is only me, because I was stupid enough to sell you when you were cheap.
Please come back.
Best Regards
I’ve thought of selling at $3000, at $7000 and ever Since I think about it every day. Maybe I should have sold at $18000, but who knows. Unfortunately you can’t predict the future (I do hope you’ve replaced them with other promising coins)
This is the good thing about the future, we do not know it, we may have expectations and we are free to fight for our goals and that what makes life worth living.
My advice for you is to keep the coins, however I would recommend to diversify your portfolio.
Spread the risk.
I’m spreading :-) Maybe a little too much - lol
Ouch! That must be a hard one to take..
Oh, It did, but loss is part of the game, as it is part of life.
This was a good lesson however.
The funny thing is, I made this amount of BTC on trading, starting with 0.4 BTC :)
Nevertheless, it was easier back then.
neat
bitcoin is real😂
Of course its real. I'm just afraid all those forks will destroy its reputation. I don't want that to happen,
but I think Bitcoin is already killing itself with the slow transactions and the high transaction fees

This just reads so beautifully.
And the entire letter is beautifully written. ^^
Thanks.
I’m note sure if that last sentence is grammatically correct, but it just sounded so good. Let’s call it ‘Poetic freedom’ :-)
Neither do I, but it does indeed sound magical :D
Bitcoin isn't going anywhere...
Until people start to use it and discover it totally blows for everyday use.
