RE: A Bitcoin Hardfork is Incoming, HODL!

in #bitcoin7 years ago

As with bitcoin cash, expect an immediate selloff until a nice level of support, then a retracement to a high selling point. It's most wise to HODL the new fork until the retracement begins vs. selling off in the first huge wave. This allows us to gauge market conditions.

Sort:

Bitcoin Cash went to almost $1000 in the first 48 hours. I sold at $600 about 24 hours too early.

There is a ton of uncertainty especially when only a few exchanges are open accepting the fork. This was the case with bitcoin cash, only one exchange or another was accepting trades, and most of them were only accepting trades for those who held BTC on that exchange. I took a few days to allow everyone to deposit the new bitcoin cash from cold/hard wallets before the full market could settle on a price.

I think this will happen again, the main thing is to be ready for it.
