Bitcoin Cash +70 (!)%, first 8MB block mined!
Pretty cool news for all who could not sell so far. The hardforked Bitcoin Cash (BCC or BCH) has almost doubled in value in the last 24h and is trading at ~500$ at the moment.
Apparently the difficulty is still too high compared to the original Bitcoin, so mining BCC is not that profitable as BTC. But the development appears to go in the right direction. The first 8MB block was just mined.

STOPI badly want to mine for altcoins and I am having issues with my gpu. any suggestions as to how i can just use my cpu to mine and still get something out of it. BTW, i am not mining for profit, just a hobby...
I did this a while back, 2 years or so, for Feathercoin and Worldcoin I think it was. That time I made about 1 coin in total, obviously completely worthless. But ok for the experience. Nowadays it does not make sense anymore and costs outweigh any return, electricity alone. If you just want to try, maybe Folding@Home from Stanford University is a place to have a look, at least you could use your computing power for a good purpose, and may still get some crypto coins in return.
